Do all radio hosts think they are the center of the Universe? |
|
Sometimes I would just like to be informed and entertained and NOT have to listen to 20 minutes of self-defense against emails or criticisms that no one else ever heard (like Ed Schults today).

Barbara Boxer had some interesting things to say which was good. I think you need some ego to sit in front of a mike and rant for 3 hours a day... most radio hosts have some of that... some more than others maybe.

2. They run out of material. The self promotion is easy filler, since |
|
talking about yourself is the easiest thing anyone can do.

3. When you talk for 2-3 hours, you need a topic you know better than anyone. |

I can deal with it. But if you are an occasional or first time listener, the selfishness is a real turnoff.

5. We're all at the center of the Universe. |
|
Indeed, the "center" of the Universe is everywhere. It's a relativistic thing - no matter where you are, the distance in light-years to the 'edge' of the Universe is the same in all directions.

I believe 95 % of radio host think Karl Rove is the center of the universe and who knows what they would do if they didn't get the dailey talking points faxed to them.

9. Well, if you think you are important enough to get your own radio show... |
|
you probably have a pretty high opinion of yourself.

demanding jobs there is. You have to keep people interested day after day just listening to you. Not an easy feat. I believe they need that center to perform to our expectations....

12. As a former talk radio producer |
|
I can assure you that ALL talk show hosts think they are the center of the universe, not only that they think that anyone around them should worship the ground they walk on. Some of the most arrogant people I've ever met have worked in talk radio.
