ARG... How they resist the facts!
The latest line I have heard is from GOPers is: "Aw, shucks, even if the Downing Street Memos are all accurate, that still does not prove Bush violated any laws. Lying is unethical but not illegal."

Can you believe anyone could be so dense?

That can only be true if the president actually has the legal authority to defraud Congress and the public. I asked you to show how that could possibly be true and you refused.

The president is NOT above the law. You or I would be jailed for conning Congress into spending $3,000. Bush, if the DSMs prove accurate, misled them into spending $300 billion. Plus, he got people killed. Yes, indeed, that would be illegal.

Am I right?

1. Tell them to check their facts....
Perjury under leveled circumstances is a high crime, impeachable offense and connected to the constitution.....

4. Yup, he's under oath to tell the truth during SOTU address...
perjury happens when you state WMD as fact. There was no implication that Iraq "might" have them. That's perjury.

3. just so long as he didn't break any laws
you know the loophole is everything with those people. And if it looks like he mighta broke the law, then lose the evidence, lock up FOIA, or heck, just change the law or have that nasty creep of a VP go duck hunting with that nasty creep of a SCOTUS judge again.

5. It is against the law to lie to congress...
especially if you lie about reasons for a preemptive war. I think it's a high crime even.

I think some are beginning to see. I have hope.

6. Those who want to believe in him will say the "fix" was * just getting
ready in case he did (eventually) decide to go to war.
