Why do they hate Hillary?
I personally prefer a more left-leaning candidate for president, but I think Hillary's ok. I'm not asking why people on the left don't like her, I've heard their reasons, but why do the Republicans hate her so much more than any other Dem? I never paid much attention to their Hillary-bashing, and lately I'm wondering what it is exactly they hate about her so much. What do they think is going to happen that would be so awful if she were president?

8. They included the whole Clinton family in their efforts to end Bill's
Presidency. All the things that were fabricated about her - to get at him - are still actually believed by the Repblican brain-washed masses.

Her "crime" was being married to the man they would do ANYHING to bring down.

12. So there isn't any REAL reason
I mean, her stand on certain issues, or whatever? Just that she's a powerful woman. That's all I could ever figure either but I assumed they must at least think they have some real reasons.

15. Because she can win. I just read the vanity fair article on her and
the Monehans thought her distasteful but I bet ya the reality of in the beltway politics has changed a great deal since Monehan first made a name for himself. Pure Character used to mean something. It lost its value long before the Clintons and right about the time we got bombarded with so many adds and political control that we no longer know what it is.

No wonder the octogenarians are the ones screaming that loudest. This whole thing - goes against what how they were brought up.

and she knows who THEY are and who THEY owe. She's a maverick with no tail to grab onto, no fence to contain.

Seriously, if you owned the Neo-con China Shop would you want a bull in there, even a trained one.

20. I honestly don't know...
I mean, I have liberal friends who don't like her because she stayed with Bill through the whole Monica thing.

But other than that...

Perhaps (at the time of her being First Lady), people didn't like her using her power and influence to pursue a political agenda without being elected to public office?

Then, of course, there's the woman thing. I'm sure that worried a lot of people.

21. Still not sure
I have no idea where all the Hillary hate comes from and neither do most republicans. Just ask them a simple "why do you dislike Hillary?" and they are all...

"Because! She's such a bitch and she's so power hungry...and...and she has cankles!"

I've honestly heard that response before btw...

22. I think it's hate for Bill Clinton...
And I think hate for him comes from three areas:

First, he defeated "war time" president Bush 1. Second, he was re-elected (they still can't understand that) and third, they can't understand why, at the height of the sex scandal and impeachment, Clinton had a higher approval rating than Bush does now. After all their witch-hunting and demonizing, the solid majority of Americans still liked Clinton. They had food on the table, were making good livings, and they had kids in the country they could afford to send to college (read: the kids weren't in Iraq dying for oil).

It's funny, in my local paper some GOP blowhardjust wrote in a letter saying if Americans want to be angry at the casualties in Iraq, they need to be mad at Clinton for not taking Hussein out during his presidency (right, like this lunatic would have stood for that!). Remember when Clinton went after bin laden and they were "Monica missiles"?

The GOP will never let go of their seething hatred of the Clintons. Ever.

24. She's a very strong, intelligent woman who won't take shit from
any man. They hate that so they have tried to vilify her repeatedly. I think people are seeing through the lies and she might well be the first woman president.
