I am optimistic about the DSM and the fact that Mr.bush and his evil minions ship seems to be leaking quite nicely. I do not expect this to take him down, but do expect it to play a big part in changing public opinion.

So will the rest. If they don't stay in power for the rest of time, they'll make millions working for defense contractors and think tanks.

Corruption will not end if/when this particular group moves on. It didn't start with them either.

I don't quite understand the level of optimism sometimes. My brain just doesn't work that way I guess. We keep fighting the same fights again and again because nothing really ever changes. We get a few new toys as time takes us nowhere, but we still fight against poverty. We'll still be doing that 50 years from now, if we haven't all killed each other by then.

Even if Bush is scathed, there will always be someone else doing the same thing in the future. They'll learn, and get even better at it. They'll give billions more to PR firms so they can sell us the same crap again. It'll work too.

Not counting environmental giveaways, corporate welfare, and bankruptcy law changes, about 250 billion dollars has been spent on this war...much of it going to American corporations. A nice side benefit has been that American oil campanies reaped record profits over the last 2 years.

He's done all that has been asked by his corporate overlords. He's a hero in their eyes, no matter what happens with DSM.

If he goes down, in the eyes of fundies and the corporatocracy he will have martered himself for their causes.

Having said that, it is much better that he take the fall now rather than at the end of his term and, yes, I'm more optimistic that that can happen than I was a month ago.
