'can you at least pay what GM was paying a quarter of a century ago.'
This quote was made on the show '30 days' last night. Did anyone else see it? It was on the FX network.
The show was centered around Morgan Spurlock, the maker of 'Super Size Me', and his fiance. For thirty days they lived and worked on minimum wage. It was not quite as funny as 'Super Size Me', but it worked. They did a good job of showing what the lower class goes through, and how hard it would be to live like that.
The above quote was made from another minimum wage worker who was complaining about getting $7.00/hour that day when he used to make $7.55/hour working for GM in the early seventies. The company he works for now said, 'well, we can't pay what the big automakers are paying.'. The above quote was his response.
The show is on every Wednesday at 10:00.

I watched that show and was actually amazed that it was on FX. I'm not used to seeing such a 'left of center show' on such a right wing channel. It was truly hard at times to watch seeing how hard it was for them to eek out a living.
