Further thoughts on the Mary Carey "diversion"...
At first glimpse, it would seem to be political "suicide" to invite a porn queen to a political function? Was it planned as a diversion to get all the attention away from all the other big stories that are breaking? Is this one that has backfired on Herr Rove?

1. I think they could have thought of a better diversion.
Considering it wasn't big enough to knock off any of the other stories from even page A2 or A3. No, it was just a matter of a paying donor whose invitation wasn't blocked by the WH morality police. If any political motivation, it may be wink to the social moderates in the Republican Party to show "just how swanky" Bush can be.

She got on Olberman last night and said "Republicans party like porn stars" and made jiggly giggly reference to how drunk they were.. I hope someone here has the footage.......

It was hysterical!

When she said that some oil tycoon offered her $$ to party with a couple of congressmen...

Which oil tycoon and which republican congressmen?

2. If they give the money, they get to go.
It was a fundraiser. You and I could get in there if I gave them enough money.

6. Ms. Carey might want to avoid small planes.
She's news now and Rove is desparate.

7. Pincer Movement
Mary Carey and her boss paaid their money and the repubs accepted it. Once the repubs realized WHO they were they were caught in a pincer movement....return the money and get the negative publicity of accepting it in the first place...avery messy situation...or let them attend and appear to be "open minded" as long as Mary got NOWHERE near the POTUS or any Repub Senator.....

They didn't count on her telling stories out of school......

8. But couldn't they have gotten political mileage by giving $$$ back??
And making a statement that their "big tent" really did not cover porn stars -- they leave those folks for the Democratic Party?? :)

9. Yes...but....
they would have had to explain why they took it or even solicited it in the first place.....

I know, that seems awfully weak .....

11. Could be that they know they would never be questioned...
about inviting a porn star to their political event? It seems like a very dangerous political decision for the Republican Party, in that they are so dependent on the "moral values" crowd of the religious right. I don't see how it would have been difficult to give their money back?? :)

14. Bingo! They are above reproach
or maybe; when reproached, they just don't care, because the MSM lick their boots.

12. It WAS political suicide if the MSM presented it that way.
If that was Billy boy inviting a porn star to his dinner, the media would have massacred him. But it's CCB so they treat like a big joke.

13. It's official - 2 known sexual prostitutes gain access to WH -
Gannon and Carey.

Of course, we do not forget all the corporate whores who bed our "dear leader" and his flunkies.

17. The invitation was probably given to the pres of kick ass pictures
and when it was sent they probably had no idea what he does for a living.

I was constantly being called to attend business leaders for Bush dinners, etc. before the election. Of course I am a registered democrat.

I think they go through the state corporate records for their mailing list. Of course, if you ever respond to something with any kind of donation, I imagine you would be on their list forever.

Personally, I am really pissed at Mary Carey and what's his ass from Kick Ass Pictures. Talk about fratenizing with the enemy.

And Mary on KO's show saying that "she's a fully converted republican", disgracefull. Writing them is on my list.
