CNN .com front page news headline really just an AD?
Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 02:30 PM by underthedome
If you currently go to cnn.com you will see the several top news headlines of different subjects and one that doesn't fit,
"PT Cruiser's new '06 look unveiled"

It then links to an article about the PT Cruiser.

My question is why is this story included in the CNN news stories? Is this a new advertising method instead of popup ad's or banners? CNN is now writing articles about products and selling them off as news?

3. They were probably making a good chunk of change writing articles
about shrub's policies and passing them off as news so they decided to diversify.

4. It's called 'selling editorial'
And CNN does it all the time.

"Next, news about an exciting new diet aid..."

6. Oh, hell no
Read this book:

BTW, those 'video news releases' the Whitehouse got scolded about have been going out to local news stations long before Bush came along. Except that they are produced by corporations to sell their products.

"Next up, looking for that perfect gift this Christmas? Our Special Holiday Correspondent investigates some exciting new products..."
