On a serious note, why the hell are the republicans always hiding behind the troops??? Don't support the war -- you are against the troops. Outraged by Abu Ghraib -- you hate the troops. Wanna talk about the Gitmo allegations -- you are demeaning our men and women in uniform.

Oh boo-fucking-hoo. I am the wife of one of these troops. We understand what the hell Durbin was saying. Quit trying to rile up the American public by shouting "democrats hate America's heroes, the very troops protecting us from those bad, bad Iraqis". Shut the fuck up! You only see in black and white, you have knee-jerk reactions to anything that might involve the military.

The troops are not that fucking dumb that they - if they actually hear Durbin's words in context and not from Hannnity, et al. - can't figure out what he was trying to say. Why are you, people serving in the Senate and the House, the White House, and pundits, why are you so fucking dumb?

Its a ploy not to hide behind the troops, but to appeal to the "patriotism" of Americans. I don't like comparing any administration to Hitler, but you have to recognize that Hitler appealed to his people as a patriot. "For the better good of the Nation"....justifies all wrongs in the eyes of a patriot..
