Alex Witt, stink media whore from hell.......
Edited on Fri Jun-17-05 10:12 AM by King Coal
Alex Witt, stink media whore from hell, relief pitches for a missing KO, and throwsleading softballs.

WITT: OK. Let‘s turn now to the Downing Street memos. Is anything in the documents, or anything that we‘ve heard today, as damning as the Democrats on the Hill or liberal bloggers might wish there to be?

VANDEHEI: Well, not really, and the reason would be that the two allegations that are in the memo are basically that the president was planning to go to war long before he was publicly acknowledging it, and determined to use highly disputed weapons of mass destruction information to justify an invasion. Both of those charges, I think, have largely been true—proved by the media, and by administration officials who were there during the war planning sessions.

So what you do have for the first time is, you have it in writing, you have this memo from the British, saying that this is our interpretation of what the United States is thinking. And that‘s what Democrats are seizing on.

WITT: Jim, how seriously was today‘s unofficial hearing being taken

by those on Capitol Hill who were not participating in it?

VANDEHEI: Probably not very seriously. I mean, what you had here were antiwar liberals holding a mock hearing, where they had critics of the administration only testifying. Basically, Republicans control all the levers power in Washington. Democrats have very little that they can do to raise issues or to raise investigations.

So what they did is, they held this mock hearing. And I think it generated some media attention, hence we‘re sitting here talking about it tonight.

Mock hearing? And why were they in the broom closet, Alex? "Democrats on the Hill or liberal bloggers might wish there to be?" We wish there to be? Did those parents wish their kids were killed because it helps the democrats? Are we glad the US is looked upon with disgust, just because of politics?

I damn near went to Washington to protest yesterday. I really gave it some serious thought. It's a long way from New Mexico, but there will be a catalyst. It's coming and it's close, and I'm not the only procrastinator getting ready to get off my ass.

5. I think he is the White House correspondent for The New York Times.
Correct me if I am wrong. (Sounds more like the Post - just remember being surprised has his totally downplaying the testimony and the delivering the 560,000 names to the White House.)

I saw that interview and could not believe how easily he just dismissed the whole event. "Mock" hearing, small group, nothing new revealed, "move on folks, it's over,"etc., etc., etc.

Keith get back to the studio your show has been hijacked by dumbasses!

10. "Correspondents" who rarely get away from D.C.--
whether they be "Pentagon correspondents" or "White House correspondents"--are very easily swayed into becoming products of that environment.

JIM VANDEHEI, WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT, “THE WASHINGTON POST": His main brag is that he broke the Clinton Impeachment story.

23. How old is he, 12...and he broke the Clinton story?
I wasn't that "into" politics when Clinton was in office (I didn't need to be) so I'm not up on a lot of this stuff.

2. Interesting.
So we have a "we knew it all along but didn't bother saying anything but it's a non-issue." So here he attempts to redeem media credibility while at the same time minimizing the importance of the implications.

We trivialize the hearings and attempt to insult the attendees to distract from the issue they were actually discussing. Nice try, but I take "anti-war liberal" as quite a compliment and this issue isn't going away.

As for only critics of the administration testifying, then let's get a full judiciary committee hearing with subpoena power. After all, if this is no big deal and everyone knew about it all along why should the Bush administration mind saying that under oath?

8. Two glaring problems:
1. Both of those charges, I think, have largely been true—proved by the media, and by administration officials who were there during the war planning sessions.

Proved by the media? And by administration officials? So the media are now our representatives, and we're to believe our "administration officials," whoever they are, according to this person?

Ho-ho.

2. I mean, what you had here were antiwar liberals holding a mock hearing,

What was not real about that hearing?

Friends, the right wing is officially on the defensive--or offensive, depending upon how one looks at it. ;-)

There's plenty of gender bias in the word.

13. "Democrats have very little that they can do...
to raise issues or to raise investigations."

In a nutshell, because Republicans are the majority, this administration can do anything it wants to do, whether legal or illegal.

Now Bush can get his blow job!
