Bush's unwillingness to work hard to get the Sunnis to supportthe election insured that the Sunnis would work against whatever came after.
Bush's people in Iraq gave him the election he demanded, but not the results America and Iraq needed for success.

At least not in any way that wouldn't automatically assure non-cooperation by the shiites or the kurds or both.

It was not a good foundation for Iraq and our future success there. They needed to do a good job the first time. How many will die before or if we try to get it right one day?
