US citizen not being deported - yet
(BC-Pot-Refugee)
A U-S marijuana activist won't be shipped home to California to face criminal charges just yet.
A B-C Supreme Court judge has granted bail to Renee Boje, who is appealing an extradition order to face charges related to a medical marijuana grow-op.
The case found its way back into the Vancouver court after Justice Minister Irwin Cotler denied Boje's claim for refugee status and ordered her deported.
She lives in Vancouver with her Canadian pot-activist husband Chris Bennett and their young child.
Boje has been ordered to appear in court September 30th. (BN)
