John Conyers was denied entry to the White House?
I thought the Oval office was a public office? When Clinton did his deed, that's what was said to be the reason for the witch hunt. Now, to deny a Congressman the right to walk to the Oval office, I believe, is an all-time low!

2. To be fair
I would need to know more.

Did he just show up or was he refused an appointment?

14. He didn't exactly "just show up"
Here's how I see it. I'm a middle-aged art-teacher in a suburb of Michigan. If I knew he was planning to deliver the petition, surely people at the White House knew. If not, we ought to be trading jobs.

11. They were denied entry, according to this article...
"Conyers and a half-dozen other members of Congress were stopped at the White House gate later Thursday when they hand-delivered petitions signed by 560,000 Americans who want Bush to provide a detailed response to the Downing Street memo. When Conyers couldn't get in, an anti-war demonstrator shouted, "Send Bush out!" Eventually, White House aides retrieved the petitions at the gate and took them into the West Wing."

6. But if you watch CNN it looks like he did get in
They showed deceptive footage of Conyers just walking into the white house TWICE in the same two minute coverage they gave to DSM.

We need to point this out to CNN... that they are deceiving in what they are showing.

7. Drop your prejudice for a moment and analyze this crtiically

The juxtaposition:
Clinton lied about getting his weiner kissed by a young woman who wasn't his wife.

Bush lied in order to start an unjustified war that's killed a hundred thousand people and has cost $200+ billion.

I mean come on, let's not let our liberal orientation cloud our objectivity here!

8. It's Conyer's fault
He should have been more prepared - should have brought a Gannon mask.

here's a link to a series of pics.

That's funny. :sarcasm: The caption for the picture of Conyers standing at the gate has changed.

"Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., center, ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, hand-delivers petitions to the White House as Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., left, talks to an unidentified White House aide, right, standing on the other side of the Northwest Appointment gate of the White House, Thursday, June 16, 2005 in Washington. The petitions are signed by 105 members of Congress and more than 540,000 Americans demanding that President Bush provide a detailed response to the evidence in the Downing Street memos of deceptions about the war in Iraq. (AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais)"

In the wee hours of the morning, that paragraph included the following:
"Conyers was stopped at the White House gate. When Conyers couldn't get in, an anti-war demonstrator shouted, "Send Bush out!" Eventually, White House aides retrieved the petitions at the gate and took them into the West Wing.

Looks like that part has been scrubbed.

12. I wonder if this creates "plausible deniability" for Shrub?
Petition? I never received any petition.
