John Conyers for President!

...has a nice ring... I really have been admiring the balls of this man. Very smart, and very up-to-date with the technology the "kids" are using. He sounds like the perfect first black President. I have a good sense this man *really* cares about our country and will fight for the people's interests at every turn.

Any thoughts about this idea from the DU community?

He would be portrayed as somebody who initiated impeachment proceedings in order to gain the WH. I would love to see him in the WH, but by being at the forefront of the impeachment process, that pretty much eliminates him from making a run.

I hate that has taken this long and we STILL haven't had a woman or minority as president.

I think that Americans would be happy to vote for a Morgan Freeman type like Conyers.

What's wrong with a sweet, wise, savvy, dedicated, honest man like Conyers? NOT A DAMN THING!

Conyers/Boxer/Clark mix'um up any way that you like I would gladly support anyone on that ticket.
