Buschco. Nazi is overused and is too easy to shoot down. My apologies, because I've used nazi on here also. From now on, until * puts up his arm in that Nazi salute, I'm calling him a fascist.

3. You mean like this?

Actually, though, I prefer "fascist" or "corporatist" to "nazi," also -- because the Nazi's were just one particularly murderous subgroup of fascists.

"Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power."
-Benito Mussolini

6. Umberto Eco once wrote an essay on this.

It was pretty good.

Essentially they're synonymous, it's just one's German, the other's Italian.

7. I agree--nazis were more colorful, these guys are a bad episode of HeeHaw
Hitler had the synergy of his propaganda and our propaganda about him that made you feel better about hating them.

These Bush guys are truly the banality of evil. A lot of the time fighting them feels more like going after an accountant cooking the books than an evil ideology--even though it's really both.

8. The GOP lovers...

... seemingly always call democrats "Nazi's" because of the "socialist" thingy in the name. But the GOP DID bring many WW2 German and European Nazi stooges to the US and gave them jobs in the GOP. Thank the Dulles brothers and Prescott Bush, Sr for that.

9. John Stewart made a pretty good point last night
although whatever the stench is needs a name. Perhaps we can just call them Neocons. They are proud of the title and it seems to have an eerie sort of ring to it.

12. No. Nazi is a fine term to use. It's just that people cave in
when they are challenged on it.

An analogy is obviously not saying that 2 things are the same.

The game now is for the Nazis to squeal like stuck pigs that someone called them a bad name, whenever anyone criticizes them, in order to avoid addressing the issue at hand. Unfortunately, the typical reaction to this from liberals, is to back down.

Instead of moveon bashing it's own people for the benefit of the Nazis, over the Nazi references in movies, they should have said "we do not think the comparison is perfect, but it is significant in drawing attention to these specific similarities and the point is that this indicates the dangerous path we are going down in this specific way'.

No more leading with the butt with the kick me sign on it. Let's grow a spine already.

13. Bush Knows Nothink...Nothink!
Hitler never was a little candy assed playboy and cheerleader when he was growing up in Austria. Even Hitler didn't go AWOL when his country called on him during the "War To End All Wars". Hitler never needed first amendment sekkktors when he campaigned, or when he toured his own country. Hitler could lie to the masses without sounding like a total ass. Hitler never in his wildest fits of psychopathic rage, ever thought of anything as stupid and just plain Evil, as putting food on your family! I think shrub may be trying to outdo Hitler like he outdid his Pappy, when the head cheerleader stole his second term back in November...
