Referring to his low poll numbers...The media must think it's safe now to go after Bush...I think they follow polls more than anyone

5. Bush's poll numbers
but they are spending more time talking about Congress' low numbers.

Talk about a new low though, wait until Lou gets to his nightly 'Why we should hate Mexicans' section. Otherwise known as Broken Borders.

17. Every American war of the 20th Century started that way.
It's just that BushCo did it so damned clumsily. Look at the record of fraud, forgeries, lies and provocations that have driven this country us to war, or led to disasterous U.S. military losses:

WWI - The Zimmerman Forgeries (and other propaganda fabrications that pushed Wilson toward war)
WWII - Enigma - the Broken Japanese Codes that revealed the Pearl Harbor attack plans, in great detail.
Korea - CIA and Pentagon failure to foresee China's entry into the war on the side of North Korea (the 500,000 Chinese who swept south after MacArthur pushed American forces too near the PRC border)
Vietnam - The Tonkin Gulf Resolution (planned in advance)
9/11 - The Bush Administration's decision not to "roll up" the al-Qaeda cells known to be preparing a catastrophic terrorist attack inside the US during the summer of 2001
Iraq - The WMD lies.

There's been a lot of lying by American Presidents and dying by Americans as a result.

Lou is a straight shooter. I have been appreciative of his coverage on "outsourcing America".

12. Nothing Wrong With Corporate Media Citing Poor Congressional Numbers
Yep, Chimpster's numbers continue to fall...but there's little we can do about that other than hope they get into the Nixonian 30's.

The Congressional numbers are something we can take advantage of. People are getting pissed at Congress...now the big question is how many of them are blaming their Repugnican Congressmen...and in those areas are there Democrats ready to reallly challenge these bastards next year.

The Repugnicans have done a masterful job in abusing power to prepare the ground for Democrats similar to what happened in '94. The problem is to disconnect people's dislike for this Congress with their local Rep or Senator.

It's time for Koz and other cites to start looking for and publicizing these races...and how those of us from the outside can help. I'll say it again...we retake the House and good things will start to happen.

Dobbs looked happy to see the bad numbers...he's representative of the fiscal conservative Repugnicans who are very unhappy with the fundie-heavy, defecit crazy assholes who they're in bed with.

15. once the dam springs a few more leaks, watch for the spectacular collapse
and I will cherish it as long as they don't decide to kill more people in America or in Iran. Which is one reason why they're teeing up Iran now.

18. I'm hoping for a "critical mass" of political misdeeds to
explode in Bush's face. It could happen. But, chances are it won't.
If it ever started, I agree that it would turn into an avalanche of public negativeness resulting in who knows what. Bush would be lucky to come out alive.

16. CNN has been all over the NYT/CBS poll today. Inside Politics
had a lot about that.

The hilarious thing is that Shrub's plan isn't to change his SS privatization plan, happy Iraq talk, etc. They just think they aren't doing a good enough job getting their message out.

He is going to keep the happy Iraq talk going but just do more of it!

That won't make him seem even more divorced from reality, will it?

Ignore the 11 KIA in Iraq in the last 48 hours, things is grrrreat!
