I just cried while watching the CSPAN DSM inquery. Conyers was good...
...the end was aganizingly painful.

Ms. Sheehan was so composed...Even when talking about her son that had died in Iraq OVER A LIE! Goddammit...Then the other people that had lost a loved one, the English MP that lost a child, that made me physically sick/Blair, fuck him hard...The aunt of the Sheehan boy...Yes a couple of the Dem Representatives spoke gravely about the lies that are now obvious...Ray McGovern who I interview on the Guy James Show (Back in 1994 I think) was both angered and reserved, John Bonifaz was steadfast in his insistence for impeachment (Which is short of the hanging that I desire). Ray McGovern who on the GJS show called Tenent a "Potted Plant" was sadly accurate with his message...Sheila Jackson Lee was her usual defiant and inquisitory self too, she hammered the fact that the Iraq nvasion was based on LIES....

Watching this made me sick because one congressperson commented that the Dem Congress that approved Vietnam also, once it got ugly, started hearings on the veracity of claims that started that fuckup.

This Repuke Congress is unwavering however, and in effect ignores what is illegal, and will NOT impeach that fuck head WWWWWWWW.

They have given up their right to govern and in their abrogation of the right of governance over the administration they have disenfranchised YOU. We now live in a "give a fuck" fascist state.

Thus I cried, we're through, we're fucked. Those good hearted reps are out of POWER, they mean WELL, yet they have no POWER and anyone that thinks they do is WRONG.

5. It reminded me of a small town council meeting that had serious issues.
It had that cheezy air yet the subject matter blew all that away during the testimonies.

4. It has been really hard
not to lose hope and lots of times I came so close. Don't let it get to you. There are too many voice speaking louder. Last night I thought I was going to pass out when I heard that Gen. Wes Clark had signed with Fox News. I was a devoted Clarkie and for me Clark associated with Murdock's garbage was unthinkable but now I am trying to take heart that he will make a change and bring a voice of reason to the mass of ignorance that is fox's audience. Don't lose hope. Hang on we can do this.

6. I watched it tonight. It was a great three hours more or less
where people dared to speak their minds. I'm kind of glad, there were no Republicans attending. They would have tried to inject their propaganda points and lies obfuscating the testimony, which came out loud and clear because they weren't there.

I know what you speak of about being sad. But Congressman Conyers said they have only just begun. I hope this is the beginning of a movement to change our country for the better and not just a happy flash in the pan.

9. Even Hitler was brought down...
Edited on Fri Jun-17-05 11:24 PM by ailsagirl
It IS terrible and frightening and deeply discouraging to have those effing psychotics in control. But we have to keep the faith. We must. Hitler, who boasted that the Third Reich would last a thousand years, ended up in a bunker with a gun to his head within ten. I think that when it gets to the point where the majority turns on Chimp, we might start seeing some hopeful signs of recovery. We have the truth on our side. We simply can't lose.

One day at a time...

10. as I listened
I thought how depressingly symbolic it was for someone from the UK who lost a child to the war and came to DC just for this hearing, to be stuck in a tiny basement room with others who have lost family to the war. In other words, they were dissed!

IMHO, if a democratic America survives to have a history, that history will record Conyers as one of America's most important and heroic statesman.
