2. I Know
But if it doesn't hit 50 votes the paper won't post the poll in the following days edition.

So that's why I asked for you guys to vote in it. Thanks for doing so btw.

7. it's not that they charge too much, so much as they pay too little...
that's where they really get ya, much of what they sell is illusory and they're not always there when you think they are. insurance companies save a lot of money by having skilled adjusters look for loopholes and non-compliance and other ways to weasel out of or reduce claim payments.

if have no problem with them doing this provided they make it clear up front, but of course, they never do.

8. Exactly.
They have those "Cadillac" policies that look good on the outside but the fine print is bullshit. They have hurt many, many pitiful people that way.

9. Insurance is legally mandated gambling
with the margin of pay-out so slim that the Las Vegas casinos are green with envy.

The way I figure it--if you pay your premiums as required and go several years without any accidents or anything, you should get something back. But it goes to the execs and shareholders.

Hardly seems fair. But, then again, I think much of the trouble this country is in can be laid at the feet of the insurance companies and lawyers.

Okay...this is where I don my :tinfoilhat:

I can't help it. When I was a kid we could play kickball or whatever in a nearby field. Of our own volition--we didn't need adult supervision. Now just TRY to find a field where some yahoo isn't worried about liability, or is pressured by his insurance company to chase the kids out.

Lawyers and Insurance companies. It's no wonder the kids are fat. Sitting around playing video games keeps them from going out and getting injured doing all the crazy-ass things WE did as kids. Climbing trees, playing kickball, sparring with broomsticks--all the things we now know were completely nuts.

The occasional minor injury used to be the price you paid for being a kid. Now?

I could really go on a rant here, but I think I've said enough.

88 votes, 94.3% yes, 5.7% no.

The 5.7% must work for insurance companies
