How did we end up getting access to what, I assume, was Cuban territory at one time. How did we end being able to use Guantanamo Bay, Cuba?
I thought we were supposed to hate those guys?
I lost track, Is Cuba part of Oceania or Eurasia?

Waaaaaaaaay before Castro. 1898. We got the land for a Navy base from Spain. Google, by the way, is a great tool for finding such information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guantanamo_Bay

I did Google it. All I got were stories about the atrocities. Figured I'd get an answer here faster than searching.

Well, before Castro took power we were in control of all Cuba, I believe. Maybe we were able to keep it somehow? I don't really know.
