Well well today I had an interesting encounter
today it was stock the pantry and get the rest of the earthquake survival gear... yep all that rocking and rolling you know...

Anyhow after getting my stuff at the surplus store (and lord their MRE selection SUCKS, but found canned goods designed for this... and I won't have to worry about rotation for two years goody) I went down to the supermarket to get my goods for the week, or at least the partial list.

Well I took my list printed from this site...

http://justicefornone.com/handbills/

And I had it pretty much where anybody could read it... this old man was shoping with the wife... sweet old couple... so the man starts getting really annoying about Bush, how dare we even try to impeach, you know the usual tripe... his face was getting a little red... I feared for his Blood Pressure. Stil I looked him straight in the eye and asked him... very calmny... "Sir are you still defending Nixon too over Watergate?"

He stood there mouth agape...

After about fifteen seconds... "you hate the Constitution!"

Under Article two, Section Four of the US Constition misleading Congress is an Impeachable offense, under Article two, Section Four of the US Constition lying to the people of the United States constitutes High Crimes and Misdemeanors.

Clinton was impeached (I had to work not to smile at that one and knee jerk... but Clinton) Very calmly I told him, under the US Constition, Section Article Two, Section Four cooking intelligence may be a high and misdemeanor, and if you cannot see the difference at the moral level between a semen stain on a dress and 1720 troops and 10, 000 civilians killed over a lie, then there is nothing I can do...

He stormed away, the wife apologizing all the time... I told her, Ma'am I am sorry, you live with him, I don't

Well he beleives anybody critizing the President is a traitor (I have an accent)

I understand man'am, but we may be facing a wide conspiracy that may force us to protect and defend that Constitution I am quoting from against enemies, both foreign and domestic...

She said... I undestand, he sees hippies all over the place... I see our lives getting harder... I smiled and thanked her... I am truly sorry for her... for I am sure I made that afternoon hell for her.

On the upside, that led to talking to a couple kids, including an off duty marine, about this... the off duty marine was impressed I was actually able to quote the Constition, not readying from it, but just quoting it... he thought I was a lawyer.. I am not, but I know that Constitution.

Oh and if anybody cares to know waht brand of canned goods I got... PM me,, the peaches actually look tempting to make a cobler with...

:-)

1. I'm impressed, too!
Thanks for passing that along to us so we can do it, too!

And that is one impressive collection of flyers to leave in grocery carts.

5. Very nice
I try to know the important parts anyways that can help with an argument and whatnot. I've never been a very good memorizer except with music and that even came after practice. That poor lady.

4. Canada may cut off natural gas to the US over border dispute in July
That might cause some disruptions since we get over 90% if our supplies from Canada

8. So I had an interesting encounter today as well.
Edited on Sat Jun-18-05 02:05 AM by DURHAM D
I was standing in line at the local office supply place and the young man waiting on me was talking to another employee. I could tell from their conversation that he had just returned from Iraq. When I got the chance I asked him what his thoughts were about the war - he said "We need to get the hell out of there". When I asked him why he said that "The government doesn't know what its doing". I asked him if he felt this way before he went to Iraq - he said "No", that he wanted to go and he was all for the invasion. I asked him why he had changed his mind - he said that he got shot at and his best friend lost a leg.

You got to wonder what he thought he was getting into.

15. Well if I am caught in one and the supplies and the apartment
survive... I am sure I will be taking care of some of my neighboors. I think I caculagted for a week, but now that I think about it, it is far more than a week... some of my neighbors are old...

What can I say> Yep I am just thinking how many servings per can?

The apples and peaches have 35 servings per can... the peanut butter 25... I just realized... we will have enough to even share....

20. Oh holy s..! At least you are thinking about being prepared. Mr. A has
been making to go kits since 9/11. Lots of MRE's and other stuff we are supposed to haul up a mountain if necessary. Good Luck and like I said, head East. Lots of us DU'ers along your way to a safe place? DU'ers yes, safe place, what is that?

19. Excellent rebuttal
And so much better than the typical FReeper tactic of barraging an oponent with insults, curses and banal cliches.
