Sad story about a soldier that was killed in Iraq.
While saying she is comforted by that — and information from the Army that he didn't suffer but was killed instantly — she said she's trying to resolve her anger and mixed feelings over his third deployment to a war zone and what she said he described as inadequate equipment.

"Yes, I have anger," she said "about sending him right back for a third time" with only hours notice before he was to report to Kentucky for training and reassignment to Germany.

"He said, 'Grandma, we don't have enough men, our equipment is old and needs repair,'" Mrs. Jones said, recalling a recent telephone conversation.

There were close calls in recent days, she said, including truck bombs that killed and maimed several men in his unit.

The young soldier, who still planned to re-enlist, told her his tank transporter could only manage 45 mph. "I'm a sitting duck. I might as well have a target on my back," Mrs. Jones said of their shared worries.
