Poll question: What do you think happened when Bush received those signatures?
Edited on Sat Jun-18-05 06:10 PM by Blue Belle
I just finished watching Symbolman's fabulous video of John Conyers and the rest of our Democratic Reps handing over the 560,000 signatures to the White House Aids (http://web.takebackthemedia.com/geeklog/public_html/staticpages/index.php?page=2005061821444755)... and I was surprised how mixed my emotions were. Of course I was proud to have played a small part in what happened, and I smiled thinking somewhere in all those stacks being passed through the barred gates of the White House was my name on a piece of paper demanding that Bush own up to his lies. But at the same time I couldn't help but wonder, "Is Bush even going to read them, or are all those petitions heading straight to the shredder".

What do you think?

and his 'subversive' lists. * is far worse. The CIA has those petitions today. I'd bet money on it.

17. Sitting back
in the Oval Office, laughing it up with the PNAC clique. They bring in a podium, and each take turns reading the names. Almost like a graduation. Bush comes up first, clears his throat, and says, "Sally Jenkins".

Cheney is up next, waddles up to the mic, gives one of his "I know I can kill you" eyebrows, mumbles "Arthur A. Ablabab", chuckles, then sits on the couch.

Rumsfeld is standing next to the couch the whole time(who doesn't like to sit? Freak), comes up after Cheney, reads an unknowable name, starts explaining why he read that particular name, but his reasons are twisted into pretzels so that nobody can understand them, and then he makes a joke, gets everyone in the room laughing(just like at his press conferences), walks away, and nobody hears from him for the next 3 months while he figures out a new way to kill people quietly.

Then Wolfowitz comes up...

26. I was among those signatures.
I get these petitions through moveon.org e-mails (they rock!) But I know the signatures weren't put to good use. I bet they were shreaded with more of those implicating energy papers. But I'm proud of our effort! At least they got to the WH.
