BUT. Fitzgerald has NOT dismissed the grand jury. We are awaiting the Judith "traitor" Miller's appeal to the supreme Court's on whether she can be compelled to testify.

Only if Fitz dismisses the grand jury with not a single indictment will I give up. All the way up. Because it would means that these criminals are so profoundly above the law that the very nature and meaning of "law" is rendered impotent.

24. I'm with you, Batty....
I am absolutely unmoved so far. I just lost too much when I thought the election fraud was going to be revealed - and then it simply wasn't.

Don't get me wrong - I am on the emails, petitions and phone calls as never before. It's just what I do. But there just is no elation for me this time. My emotions are frozen. Locked down. I need to see much, much more before I'll jump up and down.

I only speak up in this negative way because identifying with you - and you with me - might maybe help us un-freeze. Maybe?

22. DH and I just got home from a dinner out
and the burger place we were in was packed. Every single tv was turned to CBS and the news show had the Downing Street minutes plastered all over it. I was reading the subtitles out loud to hubby since he forgot his glasses. Several tables-worth of people around us had huge sh1t-eating grins on their faces and were shaking their heads in the affirmative.

I kept telling hubby "This is great! This isn't going to go away!"

The broadcaster was comparing it to Watergate.

U.K. memos show concern over Iraq invasion
'Downing Street' documents renew debate over U.S. motives

The Associated Press
Updated: 9:33 p.m. ET June 18, 2005

LONDON - When Prime Minister Tony Blair's chief foreign policy adviser dined with Condoleezza Rice six months after Sept. 11, the then-U.S. national security adviser didn't want to discuss Osama bin Laden or al-Qaida. She wanted to talk about "regime change" in Iraq, setting the stage for the U.S.-led invasion more than a year later.

U.S. President George W. Bush wanted Blair's support, but British officials worried the White House was rushing to war, according to a series of leaked secret Downing Street memos that have renewed questions and debate about Washington's motives for ousting Saddam Hussein.

In one of the memos, British Foreign Office political director Peter Ricketts openly asks whether the Bush administration had a clear and compelling military reason for war.

"U.S. scrambling to establish a link between Iraq and al-Qaida is so far frankly unconvincing," Ricketts says in the memo. "For Iraq, `regime change' does not stack up. It sounds like a grudge between Bush and Saddam."

Did you see this story on Yahoo? (currently rated 4.5 with 312 votes)

Conyers vs. The Post

There is painful irony in the fact that, during the same month that the confirmation of "Deep Throat's" identity has allowed the Washington Post to relive its Watergate-era glory days, that newspaper is blowing the dramatically more significant story of the "fixed" intelligence the Bush administration used to scam Congress and U.S. allies into supporting the disasterous invasion and occupation of Iraq.

Last week, when the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, Michigan Democrat John Conyers, chaired an extraordinary hearing on what has come to be known as the "Downing Street Memo" -- details of pre-war meetings where aides to British Prime Minister Tony Blair discussed the fact that, while the case for war was "thin," the Bush administration was busy making sure that "the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy" -- the Post ridiculed Conyers and the dozens of other members of Congress who are trying to get to the bottom of a scandal that former White House counsel John Dean has correctly identified as "worse than Watergate."

Post writer Dana Milbank penned a snarky little piece that, like similar articles in the New York Times and other "newspapers of record," displayed all the skepticism regarding Bush administration misdeeds that one might expect to find in a White House press release.

To his credit, Conyers hit back.

(and then they print Conyer's kick ass letter!)

The Conyers letter is GREAT! Make sure you read it. I love that man!

"On May 1, The London Times dropped an atomic bomb on the Bush administration, the Downing Street Memo.

<snip>

America's credibility, its conscience and soul, stand at a crossroad. George Bush should be thoroughly investigated by a congressional committee or independent counsel. And, if these allegations hold true, Bush should be impeached and then imprisoned for war crimes against humanity."
