proposed law: the president must attend at least one funeral per month |
|
resolved: congress should amend the war powers act to require that the president must personally attend at least one funeral for a fallen soldier within any 30 days following the death on the field of battle of any member of the armed forces sent into battle by the commander-in-chief.
i urge this law be introduced promptly by the democratic members of congress.

1. Why would you bring more grief to families at a funeral? |

If YOUR kid died would you want the SOB to be hanging around using his/her death for a photo op?
If I had a kid, and one that died in his illegal war, I would not want him anywhere NEAR me let alone be at the funeral. I have a feeling 99% of families that have lost kids in this war feel the same way.

7. this a bill you propose that you don't figure will actually become law |
|
the point is that the shrubbies would have to kill the law, because he'll never do it.
it lets us grandstand on the side of soldiers and their families, show sympathy for the fallen, point out the casualties of the war, and point out how shrub is NOT a compassionate conservative, but rather, will do anything to further the image of reality he desires, including neglecting the people he supposedly celebrates.

4. That's actually a good idea |
|
I saw Walter "Freedom Fries" Jones on C-Span the other morning and he was saying that his mind about the war really began to change after he attended the funeral of a soldier from his district this past April. Of course I think I read somewhere that he has written letters to the families of fallen service men & women, so that would seem to indicate that he had at least a little bit of a conscience to begin with.
Shrub has no conscience, so on second thought, if he attended a soldier's funeral it would probably just turn into a great big photo-op.
