No need to rush the DSM story... |
|
There is plenty of ammo to go around. This is not a one-shot story. This is a story that will not go away so long as Tony Blair is in office. We should be persistent in getting to the truth - every day and every week - but we should not be discouraged that the speed of the investigation is not to our liking. They are doing their best to cover up and distort this story. However, it has big long legs that can leap over them with a single bound. It will take more time than we would hope but we should recognize that we are in for a long, long battle in getting the truth about these memos.

1. We also don't want impeachment to start before next year. |
|
I don't think we have to wait till after the elections, during the election cycle the public will be able to push their congressmen.

5. I don't think anything impeachment wise will happen until the Dems |
|
take control of the House again. If this is played long enough and becomes a hot issue next year at this time, it will play will for Democrats running for Congress. By then we should have enough evidence of the corruption in Washington and be able to expose those who have allowed this to go on and put that to the voters. Timing is important, the story must be kept in the news and grow continuously over the next 9 - 12 months in intensity. This is the rocket that could carry the Democrats to victory in 06!

2. Better that Republicans to come out to defend early reports, so |
|
they will get tangled up in the lies.
It is going to be very hard to keep straight what was said to whom when, particularly as it is being made up as they go along.
Whoever is leaking these minutes to the press is doing so because they want people to know how dubious the information was at that time, and that everyone knew it.
Bush is the War President. He owns this war. Its going badly. He has got to take responsibility.
He won't let Rummy go b/c whoever replaces Rummy will have to expose what Rummy did to save himself.

as an armchair observer I'd like to note these documents were leaked to damage Tony Blair, Bush is colateral damage that means no one on our side of the pond has been turned yet which means the neocons has control of all the information

This is a "British" story and Bush, at this time, is only collateral damage. This story is not going away anytime soon, imo..

10. And Even If Blair Is Bum-Rushed Out Of Office... |
|
as they have been suggesting (having to step down to leave the government in the hands of the Labour Party)
it will be mainly because of going into war on a lie.
And will generate not only another look at the DSM, but will cause people to wonder...
"If they can do it there..."

by their msm than our politicains are held by our m$mw (as someone elsewhere appropriately named them). taking blair down would be great, assuming his replacement is not pro-war, and would really leave dubya twisting in the wind.
