Is this really a turning point for shrub?
Edited on Sun Jun-19-05 03:01 PM by charlyvi
I'm reading all the ways people are finally realizing shrub is an idiot; DSM Minutes, censoring of the environmental reports, Iraq going to shit, Chuck Hagel, anectdotal stories on DU about fundies and relatives finally turning anti-shrub. My question is--since the repubs have a lock on the House due to redistricting, is any of this going anywhere? Can I hope again or will I end up feeling like I did the day after the election? Is the America I love finally coming to it's senses?

1. Half of me says, "Yes!",
the other half says nothing matters until we get Voter Verifiable Ballots. I hope I'm wrong.

2. I think most people want verifiable ballots.
And I think the more that comes out about Ohio, the more people will realize their democracy is at risk without them.

3. Bush is not running again, he is a lame duck
Republicans are jumping ship, fast, before the 2006 elections. They know Bush is a lightening rod, and they don't want to have ANYTHING to do with him. Not all have yet, but they will.

Come 2009, Bush will be a nobody. He will do nothing as an ex-president, and Repubes will dump him like yesterday's trash.

8. he won't care, he'll be obscenely wealthy.

he'll become a liaison for the saudis. and when he dies, he will benefit from revisionist history . . . just like raygun.

it would be nice, however, if the moderate repugs would jump ship long before then.

4. Americans are slow to rouse themselves
but, once they do then watch out, I've read drip drip drip for years here, but, I'm thinking that drip is turning into a small stream. Pretty soon it'll get louder and stronger, the jin is out of the bottle now and I don't think they can spin it back in.

6. Reminds me of the expression "Sleeping Giant"
That a Japanese general used in WWII. He said "beware the sleeping giant" or something to that effect.

9. Please realize how tramatic it is for the majority of Americans to
realize that the President lied and placed Americans in harms way for a vendetta.

Americans want to believe in the Presidency. And more than Nixon, Clinton, Harding, Bush is destroying that.

We shall never be the same.

5. Nobody know about this stuff but us
Sorry to burst your bubble. I think the vast majority of Americans know know only what the Republican Media Machine tells them. And it is telling them that the DSM is "old news," and "we knew that!" It is reporting nothing on the censoring of environmental reports. There are NO stories in the Republican Media, anecdotal or otherwise, indicating people are bailing on Bush; perhaps they show a quick referenct to a sour poll, but never in depth.

America cannot possibly come to its senses when it doesn't even have a clut it is being beaten senseless.

7. You are right.
I have been trying to tell my co workers since he was elected, but they think I'm a nut case (even though I do teach gov't and have a law degree!)
I "take it too seriously." Idiots!!!

10. The Republicans having the house "sewed up" means they are MORE likely to
turn against Bush. They will not be afraid for their jobs, and they secretly hate Bush's guts.
