2. Uggh
I can't believe Bush and his cronies actually had the gall to mention the "credibility of the United Nations" when talking about the consequences of Iraq's "refusal" to comply with the demand to destroy its WMD. As if we were sticking up for the UN. Please. After all the badmouthing of the UN we did, we now what them to think we were doing them a favor? Sickening.

And I don't know about anyone else but the majority of the speech seemed more to do with "hey look at all the money we are spending in the rest of the world" as opposed to why the UN should help in Iraq. Unless their theory is the UN will think the US is being charitable in the rest of the world and they should shoulder the load in Iraq so we can keep spending $$ elsewhere.

Blech. What a horrid speech.

4. That was exactly the portion of his speech
that did me in.

Felt like I was hearing a kid counting "1, 2, skip a few, 99, 100"

resolution
resolution
consequences
war for the credibility of the UN.

3. What's this mean?
"...the center of New York City...became the symbol of an unfinished war?"

In his list of terrorist strikes, I note he's left out the bombing of the French oil tanker off the coast of Yemen. And the bus bombing of the French submarine construction crew in Pakistan. Surely just an oversight.

5. outlaw regimes...
does anyone think that when he used the term "outlaw regimes" that some in the UN were thinking..."exactly...the Bush Administration is a outlaw regime"...

6. Hey, I burned down my neighbor's house. Help me rebuild?
does ANYBODY in the administration have any sense of irony?
how about a plain old sense of propriety?
No. Well, then how about an old-fashioned sense of decency?
At long last, Mr. Bush, have you no sense of decency?
