To new members, and curious Republicans!
Welcome to DU, a vast and varied landscape of political opinion. You will find a home here, I know.

I think it's important that you take a walk through this power-point presentation. It is vital that everyone understands what we're up against. This goes to the core of what our dear Country was meant to be. If we want to realize the dreams of our founders there is one, bottom line necessity - a secure, private vote.

3. Interesting
I do agree that should be a paper trail, but all we have is circumstantial evidence. I'm not saying that there was or wasn't vote fraud; I simply don't have enough information to say for sure. It seems that there would be some sort of smoking gun (ie someone who came out from the organization and spilled the beans) if this was such a massive operation.

6. Ouch
That's quite a link, but I still have doubts that it actually took place. I'm open to the possibility, but I'm hesitant to completely belive it for fear of looking like I have a tin foil hat on. :P

8. For me it's primarily about accountablility-
Voting is more important than money and yet we don't use a verifiable accounting system.

I don't want a paper trail, I want a paper only system that is counted by hand. There may be fraud but it will be localized. I don't trust the centralization of tabulation.

10. Massive computer fraud requires a code writer and an "update" release
followed by another "update" - of course all updates are secret as is the code they are updating (which is today's situation).

There is no "trail" and there is no massive number of folks involved.

Even better are main console "excutive" functions - AT&T sold such -albeit with a large monthly fee - in the early Reagan years so that every phone in the company had a silent wiretap that allowed the CEO to hear any phone call.

Todays internet connected central tabulator makes changes from one office child's play.
