Yes... a lie by Clinton elicted a liberal shrug of the shoulders but a lie by Bush means a constitutional crisis of the first order. Gee, I wonder why...

Hmmm, yes, I wonder why you ignorant asshole... let's see... did Clinton's lie end up with over 1700 US dead and 100,000 Iraqi's dead? In fact, the only life lost was the potential life in his sperm. I suppose I shouldn't bring that up as it's something you freepers would attack him next on - for killing those potential lives by not actually impregnating Lewinski.

I need coffee.

2. Next to Bush, Clinton's transgressions look downright quaint
In seven years, this country went from "Prez gets a BJ, America in chaos!" to "3000 killed in terrorist attack, unjustified war, and torture". You tell me what's worse.

4. For Pete's Sake: No One Buys into the "It's All Clinton's Fault" Anymore.
FReepers need to get attached to reality. Their Chimp is in charge, 5 plus years now. Are they saying the Almight-Mr.-Superpower has no power at all!?!

6. With all that is happening in the world
these are the people who still profess extreme outrage (and titillation) over a stained blue dress.
Forget them. They're not worth our time.

14. Yes, no slight on them intended.
It's just that most Amurikans don't diffentiate between Iraqis and "insurgents." "We killed 20 insurgents today," reads the news, when in reality all we know is there were 20 dead bodies shoveled into some hole somewhere.

11. Talk about stupid..
By taking this stance, this dumbarse freeper has just opened up the comparison between the two episodes.

From their point of view:

Clinton lied about having an extra-marital affair while in office, causing a Constitutional crisis, and the Liberals just shrugged and said it was just a blowjob.

From our point of view:

Bush lied by publicising phony intelligence, leading to an illegal war that has killed over a hundred thousand (and counting) thus comitting war crimes, crimes against peace, and crimes against humanity, and the Conservatives just shrug and say it's a "War On Terror".

Hmm blowjob vs war crimes?

Acting like a fool, or Hitler?

Which do you think is worse? What do you think the average person thinks is worse?

13. Look, both told lies to congress...
And if you base it on that standard then, yes, both deserved to be impeached.

The difference is this: Bush lied on a matter of war, a power that is explicitly reserved to the Congress, while Clinton lied about a personal, private matter in response to a question that Congress had no business asking in the first place. Show me where in the constitution Congress is given the power to ask about and regulate the president's personal life and I'll support the equivalency fo the two situations. But, seeing as how that is not the case, then the only person who had any right to inquire into Bill's affair was Hillary Clinton. Now, if there were allegations of sexual harrassment, that would be another thing, too. But, such allegations were up to Lewinsky to charge, which she never did. Thus, no congressional investigation was warranted.

This is essentially why 60% of the public opposed Bill's impeachment, because congress was threatening impeachment for something it had no right inquiring about and for something that was a FAR cry from "high crimes". Now, Bush, on the other hand...

Good. They can shrug their shoulders all day and we'll call it even. Now somebody get in touch with the Hague.

21. they are such lovely people (sarcasm)
"I am in the camp that believes that the US should have active war plans to invade pretty much every country including allies. If one of our allies gets taken over by a hostile force we had better be able to act fast and invade to throw out the enemy. You never want to start planning when you are in the heat of battle. Your plans should be in place and solid. Once the fighting starts to adjust to the ever changing conditions. To not have any plans is foolish and only a democrat, an anti-war activist or peace-nik could think this the wisest course?"
