Steny Hoyer's PAC supports Republicans? I'm so confused.
According to the FEC, "AMERIPAC: THE FUND FOR A GREATER AMERICA" -- Steny Hoyer's PAC -- receives donations from and gives to Democrats.

opensecrets.org http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/contrib.asp?CID=... -- the PAC is one of Hoyer's largest contributors

FEC http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/com_supopp/C00271338 /

But now, look at this web site: http://www.ameripac.org / This web site features photos of Bush & Frist (and DeLay, I think) -- read some of the pages; it's clearly a GOP site.

What's the difference? What am I missing? I'm pretty naïve and can use some help. Thanks.

(No bites on this issue in GDP.)

1. Harpers ran an 11 page article called Jesus Plus Nothing
a couple years ago..about religious influence on the house..Hoyer factored greatly into that story..I suspect that PAC factors into the story as well

6. I read it and read nothing about Hoyer. Not only is he not named,
I don't see where he's even implicated. Anywhere. Are you thinking of a different Harper's article, maybe?

5. two different PACs
No need to worry. There are two completely separate PACS known as "Ameripac". One is the right wing nut job Pac; the other is Steny's PAC (Ameripac: The Fund for A Greater America)which gives to Democrats.

Check it out at the FEC's website:

7. Onenote saves the day!! But it's a real drag that the conservative PAC
snagged the web domain. "AmeriPAC" is not their name, as the FEC shows.

Thank you for finding the con pac for me, onenote.
