I am so tired of RW conspiracy theorists. |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-20-05 12:44 PM by demgurl
Is anyone else as tired of RW conspiracy theorists as I am? All these people are coming forward from El Douchebag to Rummy to Cheney. All of them are espousing these crazy paranoid theories that the world is out to get the US.
I can not count how many times I have heard the paranoid rantings of these people claiming that the world has come together to bring our downfall and make us look bad. Every single one of them claim that Newsweek, The Red Cross and AI got together with the prisoners held at Gitmo and decided to concoct this huge story about prisoner abuse.
These folks have really lost it this time. They are claiming this conspiracy while at the same time using some of these same organizations to prove a point about other countries. They are raving lunatics. This kind of paranoia can get you locked up in a padded cell.
I would hate to see anyone we know get caught up in the delusions of these mad men. The next time someone says to you the torture stories are made up to make the US look bad, please make sure you tell them you had no idea they bought into conspiracy theories. When they look at you strangely and ask why you would say such a thing, explain to them what a global scale this 'fraud' would need to be perpetrated on in order for it to work. Wow, and they say we have conspiracy theories - I am not sure I have ever seen one on this grand a scale.

1. I don't have use for ANY tinfoilers |
|
No matter which side. It's a sign of a paranoid, delusional, and immature mind. Ideology doesn't forgive tinfoil crackpot theories.

3. LOL... yeah, tinfoilers are the topic du jour |

It's as they see the world as one large hotel gathering - scheduled daily.

8. They attribute too much intelligence on the part of the supposed |

conspiracists, but gawd help anybody who contradicts any of their theories and throws the ice water of science or historical fact on them.
There are some conspiracies, though. The anthrax mailings were an inside job, with the weaponized spores traced back to the CIA lab at Fort Detrick. We know the appointistration got ample warning pre 9/11 and did nothing. We know the Warren Report was a whitewash, and that the OKC bombing likely was. We don't know who the conspirators were in any of those cases or how elaborate the whole thing was. That's where guesswork and tinfoil hat people come in, but they'll never admit they're just out there speculating and dreaming. They believe they have information mere mortals like us will never possess.
Most of them would be pretty laughable if their otherwise intelligent proponents not cling to them in the face of contradictory evidence, though.

9. I don't mind speculation |
|
As long as it is admitted that is all it is. And with the government, I understand suspicion and bad motives. It is okay to suspect the worst, when dealing with a realist like me.
But saying Bush engineered the recent CA quakes is an example of the kind of crackpot crap I am talking about.

2. No they are not paranoid |
|
(and due to what they have done, the world may very well be out to get us, but that is another story)
No, what they are espousing is coolly calculated to create fear, and keep the base afraid. They may, or may not, believe the crap they are telling. THat does not matter. Their job is to keep joe sixpack afraid and malleable... and as that, it is brilliant propaganda. Heck if you believe shruby actually won in OH, fear was the main component of that victory.

6. I actually know they are doing talking points for their base..... |
|
but they always countered anything we said by SCREAMING 'conspriacy thoery' at the top of their lungs. It is tiem we turned the tables and made everyone turn from them for fear of being branded a conspiracy nut as well. Make their theories sound so implausible and out there and point it out to their base. Use their words against them as they try to do to us.

5. Always keep in mind... |
|
that many conspiracy theories are put out by real conspirators to misdirect.
What comes to mind is the UFO theories to cover up sensitive military testing...not all conspiracies are sinister.

the "UFOs are military tests" is a cover story for actual UFO incidents. Wheels within wheels, like Ezekial.
But that's for a different thread.

11. There is a problem with Paranoia. |
|
Sometimes those with Paranoia have good reasons to be Paranoid. The problem is how those who are Paranoid react to their perceptions.
When Government planning goes against the interest of constituents you get conjecture that may or may not be accurate. Conjecture about the downfall of the United States presumes the United States is in a position we are in control. That presumption may also be delusional, as I think we are all learning daily. The old Soviet Union could never control Red China "Communist Conspiracy" as we could never control Israel "Neo-Con Conspiracy".
Yes the insurgents in Iraq are on the run but they seem to be very effective lately don't they? Actually I like to think there may be some planning "call that a conspiracy" as opposed to the antithesis that those who are planning are cognitively challenged. If America falls it is because we were never really in control and never knew it.
