Bush: "I think about Iraq every day. Every single day"
<<SNIP>>
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2005/06/20/national/w103650D43.DTL

With polls showing voters growing restive on Iraq, Bush defended his policies on the war.

"I think about Iraq every day. Every single day, because I understand we have troops in harm's way," the president said. He said the United States will not bow to "cold-hearted killers."

"We will complete the mission and the world will be better off for it," he said.

The president also defended U.S. actions in Guantanamo Bay, where suspected terrorists are being held. Critics, including at least one human rights group, have accused the U.S. of mistreating detainees.

"Look at all the facts. That's all I ask people to do," Bush said, noting that many of the suspects are not traditional war prisoners. "The fundamental question facing our government is what do you do with these people?" he said.

13. Thinks about it once a day while going for his 3 hour bike ride
or perhaps during his nap that follows.

29. The fact that he thinks at all is impressive
Which is why I doubt that entire statement he made.

3. What do you do with these people?
Uh, for starters, I'd say don't lock them up without charge or recourse. If you do take someone prisoner, don't torture them. Adjudicate their cases quickly and fairly in accord with due process, so that if they're guilty they can be punished and if not guilty, they can be released. Don't torture them. Give them access to attorneys, and inform them of the charges and witnesses against them. Don't torture them.

Did I mention not torturing them? Seems pretty basic, but some folks don't quite get that one.

7. I bet he thinks about Iraq every day...
He thinks about Iraq and all that crude under their sand. He thinks about the revinews he and his collegues have gained due to the spoils of war. He thinks about new and inventive ways to reward Haliburton/KBR with new contracts over there when they have yet to fulfill their end of any of the previous contracts. He thinks of the troops and wonders if they have the wherewithall to endure operation "while we already have our troops all sandy... lets persue Iranian Freedom!"

I think we're giving this president too much credit for thinking.

8. That reminds me of the Chris Rock but " You're not supposed to go to jail"
"You're supposed to love your kids"

Bush thinking about Iraq every single day ought to be a given. He shouldn't have to say it.

What does he want? A cookie?

18. What an insulting statement
because it's meant to imply that he is the only one who does this. I don't know of an american who doesn't think of Iraq every single day many many times.

22. Too little, too late, jerk.
Where were you two years ago when the body bags started arriving home? Right. So you THINK about Iraq - good for you! You do that because you can't FEEL the impact of Iraq on our country, its citizens, and its soldiers.

Find a therapist for your sociopathy, jackass.

Big ship on the water, big banner, lots of men in pretty colored suits, you sporting a magnificent codpiece? C'mon, you 'member!

As for what you do with "these people," (what a revealing and utterly chilling question)YOU TREAT THEM LIKE HUMAN BEINGS UNDER CONSTITUTIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LAW.
