It would be inappropriate for Senators to attend a House function. Congessmembers tend to respect the Constitutional boundaries between the two houses of Congress. ;-)

On edit: Barney Frank and Cynthia McKinney were there and questioned the witnesses.

I don't think Waxman showed. But Peter DeFazio did.

3. Sometimes breaking tradition may be a good thing.
It would have been cool if some of the top Dems would have dropped by.

Senators showing up at a House hearing? They would have to specifically set up a "joint" committee for that. Otherwise, it would be improper for Senators to show up, let alone participate.

There are rules for these things. That's why Senators correctly stayed away.
