Who else has had friends move away because of the economy?
This is the 2nd time in 2 years that one of my good friends moved because of a job. 2 years ago my best friend moved to Florida after her husband lost his job here. He found a job down there with no problem. Now one of my other really good friends from college moved to South Carolina. Her husband's dotcom thing went poof and he has been commuting back and forth from Chicago to SC every week. They finally had enough and moved since he was having no luck job hunting here. All we hear though is how much better the economy is. I'd like to know where??

1. My buddy in this neighborhood had to move about 4 years ago
because her hubby's business was taking care of mainframes used in the banking industry.

Deregulation has meant that all the small local banks statewide have been gobbled up by Mc Banks, mostly Californian ones, and his job simply went with them.

They relocated to upstate New York. I still miss them.

2. I think they're equating the stock market...
with the economy. That and they're just flat-out lying.
BTW I left LA for a job in Chicago in 02 and left Chicago for here a year l8r because of the horrible economy there.

3. It matters what you do, but I hear India has a ton of jobs opening up...
especially if you speak english and have great phone etiquette.
