If you were the DSM leaker... |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-20-05 07:58 PM by Goldmund
...would you leak the most damning things first, or would you start with the less damning, have them try to justify it, and then shut them up with not only the more damning memos but ones that directly contradict their justifications?
Now, of course, Rove ain't no fool either and he's not biting the bait of producing justifications; he simply has his troops hunkered down waiting for the storm to pass and doing everything they can to make sure that DSM doesn't germinate in the national discourse.
And the leaker is hoping the storm becomes strong enough to force them to adress it.

3. Well there could be more than one leaker... |

A lot of people with their own motivations could leaking the memos. Whoever leaked the memos to the AP clearly wanted the story to get some traction in the press, while whoever leaked the first memo could've been just trying to hurt Blair's election.

Pentagon put in charge of churning out contingency plans to return all the unexpended munitions and supplies to the U.S. if Saddam had caved and sending them hither and yon before the war. This would have been bullshit of course, but they could have created a huge false paper trail to show that Bush "really" was hoping to avoid war. Bottom line, they are not only liars, but bad at it.

Michael Smith, the reporter, said continued lies from Blair and Bush make more leaks likely.

just enough till they were confronted judicially.
i love to ponder what else she got on the war criminals but fear it may only be of the UK actors.
now we know why the Western WH was REQUIRED and why the neoCONs spent so much time there... we certainly not gonna repeat Nixon's blunder.
as we all wonder who this civil servant is, i also wonder what more info they(?) have... what could be more damaging then ILLEGAL WAR based on a PACK of LIES
however, if the neoCONs have their way, i'm sure they'll just round up ALL dissenters after the next MIHOP :nuke:
