2. So very, very sad.
Keep throwing money at the asshole without even mentioning the need for an exit plan.

I am totally, completely, and utterly ashamed of (most of) my government.

12. Thanks for posting those articles
Not many people respond, which is a travesty, but they are extremely informative and interesting on a topic that is scarcely covered.

I suspect many people read the articles, but it may be a bit hard to reply to them. Keep it up!

16. I Just Don't Get It
Very, very few DU'ers respond to any articles dealing with Iraqi workers and their labor unions. The oil workers in Iraq are going to be a real key element determining the future of Iraq.

I don't know if people just don't get it or if there is a class bias against workers or labor unions among progressive folks who are intellectuals, well educated or perhaps very well off financially.

I have to admit that I just don't get it. What's your take on this mystery?

20. I really don't either.
Why is it that people don't care about unions and progressives in Iraq trying to make changes for the better? I have no idea. People of Iraq trying to unite for progress: boring; talking about what O'Rielly said last night; interesting....:banghead:

These groups have a real potential to do some great things from a horrible situation, and it is unbelievable that not too many people seem to care.

This kind of stuff should receive much more responses. It is in the best interest of Iraq, as well as liberals and progressives everywhere that we support this movement (which is up against pretty tough odds).

By the way, where do you get this info?

22. Just Good Old Fashioned Research
I spend a lot of time trying to dig up information on what is really happening in Iraq among other things.

I post it here because most DU'ers just don't have the time to do these searches.

7. Pelosi should have insisted on deducting 8.8 billion from the request
She should have told Bush to get off his ass and find the 8.8 billion that's missing first.

27. Mine too! Tammy Baldwin is a true patriot!
Getting a call to her office right now. I heard about the vote, but didn't realize it passed by such a huge margin.

I agree with the poster who said that people will continue to die if we keep funding it. From what I heard, Shrub hadn't even ASKED for this money...they just gave it to him!!!

18. As long as Congress will fund it, the dying will continue.
All the previous "funding for Iraq", funny how only $2 billion has been spent, over $8 billion is missing, and our troops STILL don't have enough body armor and up-armored vehicles.

23. Yep. And there are 1000s & 1000s of examples throughout history.
American Big Biz is making a KILLING out of Iraq. Why would they want it to stop?

They don't care about US troops dying in Iraq. Rightwingnut freepers not making a penny off bush's invasion don't care, why would Big Biz making fortunes care.
