nevermind the obligatory "litigiousness" bashing. everyone knows liberals sue at the drop of a hat. reference al franken suing fox news, fresno city council suing conservative website free republic, gore v. bush in the supreme court last presidential election, that sort of thing. the part i wonder about is, what--exactly--does national healthcare have to do with limited availability of suitable organ donors? i assume, for this cartoon to be making anti-canadian healthcare point, the man who died in 1992 must have been wealthy enough to be higher on the list in the US than he was in canada. unfortunately for him, some undeserving bastard who, in *our* great nation, wouldn't have had fucking health insurance in the first place,
must have gotten it.

it all comes clear. fucking liberals, and canadians, and national healthcare indeed.



so this unsubtle crap is the best they can come up with? even boondocks isn't pure liberal. the protagonist goes overboard. that's part of the joke. it laughs at itself almost as often as out of frustration with the overwhelming neoconservativism running rampant in this nation. at any rate, can anyone imagine *for an instant* a major paper running a cartoon solely dedicated to making fun of a republican family? how about "bozo and the bush-voting idiot neanderthal clan"? i didn't think so.

this cartoon simply is not funny. I'd have no problem laughing at jokes aimed at the left. Hell, if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at. But this tripe; gads, it's LAME.

Aside from the lame swipes at the left (not that the left is immune to ribbing), the concept is bad. If you're trying to create a cartoon strip, do you want the main characters to be the antithesis of your "philosophy"? That is, if this is a "conservative" strip, the cartoonist would be much better off making the strip about the conservative family, using the liberal family as a foil. Successful strips seem to have a bit of the cartoonist in the main characters. This strip looks like someone is just pissed off at "liberals" and wants to make fun of them (and unsuccessfully, at that).

Of course, subtlety appears to be lost on the right....

And now I just wasted another few minutes reacting to a worthless cartoon. Argh.
