Dr. Rice: "The WHOLE WORLD thought Saddam had WMD's"

There was no doubt going into the war that successive administrations, the United Nations, intelligence services around the world, knew that Saddam Hussein had used weapons of mass destruction, that he had them, that he continued to pursue them.

- Dr. Condoleezza Rice, September 28, 2003

Because we acted in Iraq, Saddam Hussein will never again use weapons of mass destruction against his people or his neighbors.

- Dr. Condoleezza Rice, April 8, 2004

A lot of the intelligence was from Great Britain, from British sources. And the entire world thought that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.

- Dr. Condoleezza Rice, June 14, 2005

The most important point about Iraq is that it was time to deal with Saddam Hussein and to create conditions in this very important region, this very volatile region, that would help bring about a different kind of Middle East so that the United States can be secure. The Middle East came home to us on September 11 in ways that we never expected; and without change in this region, we're going to continue to fight terrorists for a very, very long time.

- Dr. Condoleezza Rice, June 19, 2005

The only people who thought he had WMD's was Blair and the wimp Americans who were scared by this administration's false intelligence.
She's an embarrassment to women and the Black community. But, she probably has one fantastic profitable stock portfolio.

13. But Condi...YOU didn't believe Saddam had WMD. YOU SAID he had none.
On 29 July 2001, Condoleezza Rice appeared on CNN Late Edition With Wolf Blitzer.

Guest host John King asks her about the sanctions against Iraq. She replies:

"But in terms of Saddam Hussein being there, let's remember that his country is divided, in effect. He does not control the northern part of his country. We are able to keep arms from him. His military forces have not been rebuilt."

Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 02:24 AM by LynnTheDem
Press conference on 24 February 2001 during Powell's visit to Cairo, Egypt;

"We should constantly be reviewing our policies, constantly be looking at those sanctions to make sure that they are directed toward that purpose. That purpose is every bit as important now as it was ten years ago when we began it. And frankly they have worked.He has not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction. He is unable to project conventional power against his neighbors. So in effect, our policies have strengthened the security of the neighbors of Iraq..."

15 May 2001, Powell testified before the Foreign Operations, Export Financing and Related Programs Subcommittee of the Senate Appropriations Committee;

"The Iraqi regime militarily remains fairly weak. It doesn't have the capacity it had 10 or 12 years ago. It has been contained. And even though we have no doubt in our mind that the Iraqi regime is pursuing programs to develop weapons of mass destruction -- chemical, biological and nuclear -- I think the best intelligence estimates suggest that they have not been terribly successful."

25. Well yeah but you'd think Condi would remember her OWN words.
LOL!

I got a list a mile long of the world NOT believing Iraq had any "WMD" or anything in any way significant other than old useless crap good for salad dressing.

Actually anyone with common sense shoulda known Iraq had no "WMD". First, "WMD" are nukes, and the IAEA most certainly DID say before bush's war that Iraq had no nukes.

As for chemicals and bios, they have very short shelf lives (3 & 5 years) for the GOOD stuff. And Iraq never had the good stuff.

And then we have the UN weapons team that said Iraq was "95% disarmed" when they were ordered out of Iraq by Richard Butler in '98, and no "WMD" had been found by the teams since the early 1990s.

And then there's bush & Co's fave "IRAQ HAS "WMD"!!!" proof; Saddam Hussein's son-in-law. The one bush & Co quoted over & over again about all the "WMD" Hussein had.

The same one bush & Co NOT ONCE bothered to mention had also, in his same testimony, said Hussein had ordered ALL "WMD" DESTROYED in 1991, and that all "WMD" had in fact been so destroyed.

Now WHY did bush & Co forget to mention THAT part of his testimony?

Oh and then bushCo's main "proof" of "WMD"; curveball. Chalabi's aide's nephew, the drunken "fabricator". The one the CIA warned bush about as being unreliable and a drunk and a liar. The one Germany warned bush about as being unreliable and a drunk and a liar.

Gee, not even BUSH believed Iraq had any "WMD".

Or was his total lack of giving a shit about ordering UN-monitored and secured weapons and dual-use depots being secured until months after his invasion and his lack made public just due to bush's stupidity?

PULLEEEEEEEEEZE!

Ya go invade a country, saying it's coz they got "WMD" pointed at America and were trying to buy yellowcake, and then ya don't bother ordering THE YELLOWCAKE secured that the UN had secured & monitored for years in Iraq???!

PULLEEEEEEEEEEEZE!!! Not even BUSH is THAT stupid. SHEEESH even I give him that much credit for brains! HE KNEW there was no "WMD" before he attacked Iraq.

The most important point.... to create conditions in this very important region, this very volatile region, that would help bring about a different kind of Middle East...

And there you have it. The MOST IMPORTANT point is NOT WMD, but changing the Middle East. The Bush Doctrine, which was the plan for our national security strategy before 9/11. The cause of every international problem since 2001.
