Gallup: "Fear of a terrorist attack lowest since 9/11, lost confidence"
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=676&e=2&u=/usatoday/20050621/ts_usatoday/pollshowsamericansgenerallyinafunk

Fewer Americans fear a terrorist attack on the USA in the next several weeks than at any time since 9/11, a new USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll shows.

Overall, 35% say another attack is likely soon, down from 39% in January and a high of 85% in October 2001, a month after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The public has lost confidence in the Bush administration's ability to protect the nation from terrorist attacks, the poll shows, but 61% are still confident it can.

Satisfaction with the way things are going in the war on terrorism is at a new low: 52%, down from 75% in September 2002. "On one hand, we have been lulled by the fact that there hasn't been an attack here since 2001," says Stephen Wayne, a political scientist at Georgetown University. "But on the other, we're generally in a funk about a lot of things - the economy and the war - and these numbers reflect it."

5. There's a difference between "can" and "will."
Personally, I'm confident that the Bushoilini Regime could have prevented the atrocities of 9-11 ... but consciously decided to get out of the way.

2. And this is actually bad news.
The reason why fewer people are scared is because the Bush admin. has stopped the fear mongering in order to COVER UP how unprepared we are and how little progress we have made.

Wrong before, wrong after, and wrong again, all in different ways.

10. Yes, that was my reason for posting this...
...but I figured that I'd let the story speak for itself. Apparently it did.

6. The main actors
from whom we have to fear a terror attack are MI6, al-CIAda and the Mossad.

Eventually everyone will figure this out, unless they "can't handle the truth." I would say at least 40 percent of the public falls in the latter category.

Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 10:10 AM by seabeyond
allowing the most absurd behavior by our government out of fear to the "end of the world" perspective. will give you that. are we done yet. can we quit being afraid and start working to fix all the damage we created cause you were so afraid.

interesting.

you know the child, that did the most stupid, cause was afraid. once they start walking away from the fear, they wills start listening. have ability to reason again

8. Okay, follow the equation
1. Fear of a terrorist strike goes down, Chimpy's approval ratings go down.

2. _____________________ happens, fear goes up.

3. Fear of another terrorist strike goes up, Chimpy's approval ratings go up.

Fill in the blank on number 2. You have 30 minutes for this part of the quiz.

If you got a good tax cut ... BUSH DID IT

If you lost your job ... BUSH DID IT

If you feel safer ... BUSH DID IT

If you don`t ... BUSH DID IT

If you feel the war in Iraq was justified ... BUSH DID IT

If you feel he lied about WMDs & into a war in Iraq ... BUSH DID IT

If you feel the economy is stronger ... BUSH DID IT

If you feel our deficit is out of control ... BUSH DID IT

If you feel he won the election ... BUSH DID IT

If you feel he stole the election (again) ... BUSH did it

Will they MIHOP again?
Very likely. It's the only thing that brings their ratings up.
