The newest Homeland Security scare scam. |
|
You're not going to believe this one.
My significant other works in a job in which she takes requests for donations from non-profit organizations. This morning she got a call from the Department of Homeland Security. They wanted volunteers and donations in an effort to help teach elderly people to make a lightweight duffle bag that they can evacuate with within 10 minutes in the event of a terrorist attack or similar emergency.
I really have nothing else to add on that one, other than my utter contempt and the fact that their request was not granted by my girlfriend, who was just as horrified as I am.

Homeland Security is the largest government agency ever, and they have to solicit donations and volunteers to perform their function. :eyes::shrug:
