"Hardball" critique - Monday, June 20
I watched Monday's "Handball," because of the advertising of it's DSM coverage. Although I felt there were many areas that could be improved, the show was surprisingly accurate, even handed and the host's unwillingness to accept the standard BS was quite laudable. It did rise to the level of remarkability, so I sent them a short note as follows:

Responsible parties,
I must commend you! Monday, June twentieth's Hardball was the very best, ever.
David Gregory was penetrating, witty, in a business-like fashion, thoughtful and, frankly, hardball.
Why is he not the regular host of this show? Absent the rude, whining, partisan shill that is the regular host, this program could actually become a valuable part of the journalism scene, rather than merely another opinion-page shouting match.
If you continue to produce such quality offerings, I can assure you of my continued patronage, as well as my full consideration of the products your sponsors offer for sale.
Can you meet this challenge? I certainly hope so, as we truly need something beyond another "me too" copy of fox snooze.
Thanks, Again,
Xxxxx Xxxxx

Did this go too far? Maybe a bit too gushing or irresponsible?
We, as American patriots, need a major cable/satellite media outlet that reports the unvarnished truth, as well as digs for details. It is a sorry state of affairs when this is the best they can do, but we have to start wherever we find ourselves.

3. I like Gregory - he always hands Imus his head on a platter when
he calls into the show. Imus can't begin to keep up with Gregory.

Did anyone find it interesting that Tweety wasn't on hand for such an important show? Is he off for the entire week or did he just turn tail and run when he knew a report was going to be airing that would show was a piss poor show he has been doing covering this subject?

2. I am sure they got many letters from the reich wing telling them
just the opposite and threating them with boycott, so I don't think you were inappropriate.

4. Thanks, all.
Of course (sadly) one time doesn't represent a trend.

5. Gregory was ok, but they have two appoligists, Kay and Woolsey.
That's how they get their spin on it. Why not have a liberal voice in the mix? The show went down hill fast once Kay and Woolsey came on because there was no one to really explain the gravity of the lies. So they got away with bland, ho hum responses. If that was my main source for info on DSM, I'd write them off.

6. How true, how true.
I, too, viewed that segment with dismay, especially Kay's rather dismissive defense of the berserkers, since he has recently been attacking them on other shows (think it was on a bit talking about his recent book.) He blows hot and cold. I would hate to think it depends on who's paying...
Woolsey is, was and will always be a loser and a bfee apologist. What a drag it must be to be he --
However, I felt that, even with this drag, the program was far and away the best treatment of this issue on BSSM (bull shit streaming media) to date.
One must, in training a feckless child, offer praise for even a small victory, since waiting for a really sound performance may be futile.

11. Matthews is an empty souled braggart.
Carlson? He redefines an important mathmatical concept - zero.

13. Carlson should be kept.
He shows how whacky and out of control the reich-wing is, so MSNBC does great in showing his hypocrisy everywhere. He just needs a firm counterbalance like Gregory who won't lob softball questions. And of course no more tweety the softballer.

12. Msnbc has gone to hell.
Well, actually, I don't think they ever left, just became sloppier and more whack-brained about it.
