Why not just call them Pseudochristians?
After all, that's what they are.

Real Christians who think are on our side.

Real Christians who don't think are confused, just like most of American society.

Lumping them in with the Pseudochristians who want their beliefs shoved down the throat of the rest of us by force of law just lends some legitimacy to the Pseudochristians.

Why do we continue to accept their self-characterization as "Christians"? I usually show respect to people by referring to them in terms they prefer. Not with these bastards! They're out to change my country into something it was never intended to be. They're out to make me obey their rules and follow their prejudices. And they want to do this with smug, self-righteous smirks on their faces.

I refuse to besmirch the millions of good honest followers of Jesus by referring to these bastards with the same term.

1. Some Real Christians are on neither side, becuase they are apolitical
Which I can certainly understand. I know a couple, and they are great people. They actually despise Bush because of how fake and insincere he is about the faith.

But, I certainly agree with you, and I really like the name "PseudoChristians"

3. Jesus had a better term, "Pharisees!"
And "brood of vipers." He also compared them to white tombs -- pretty on the outside but full of death and corruption on the inside.

4. Well, I do
And have been for years, as I also have with the extremists of the Muslim faith. Neither is truly representative of their respective religion, and each gives their faith a very bad name.

Pseudo. They certainly don't know what the word Christian means, do they.

7. I talk to alot of them on another board
and I always call them "christians". They hate that..lol. But, they'll just end of saying that you hate Christians (because afterall, they are the only real Christians out there and any Christian who says you have to love your enemy is just a liberal satanist).

10. Why not try "Pseudochristians" next time?
This points out that you aren't referring to real Christians.

8. Dominionists.
They have nothing whatsoever to do with Christianity, except to lift a few (very few) passages from the New Testament that suit their purposes. Everything else is lifted and twisted from the Old Testament and is about as un-Christian as can be imagined.

Their purpose is to rule -- and to rule completely. They want a theocracy of their creating.

They are Dominionists.

11. Of course they are really Dominionists.
But somehow I think the term "Pseudochristians" would be more easily understood by others. Few Americans know about the Dominionist movement.

14. Then let's combine the terms.
Pseudochristians are hypocrites and pharasees, yes. That may disgust a lot of Americans, but they don't see it as much of a reason to fight back against them.

Call them "Pseudochristian Dominionists" and educate Americans as to what that really means -- and you will awaken Americans to the very real threat that this movement represents.

It's extremely important that we make "Dominionist" a household word and educate people as to just how and why they are so very dangerous to everyone, including true Christians.

18. I'm game.
Sounds like a good idea to me. I'll try it with my extended family when I see them in a few weeks. My family is made up mainly of Christians, and I'll have hours to talk to them soon. I'll also drop it into every conversation I can with others.

19. Great!
Looking forward to hearing how it goes. Meanwhile, I'm searching for a quote I saw a while back (fairly recent) that very succinctly stated the dominionist goals so that I can spread it around.

Christians feel a duty to spread the Good News of the Gospels -- and now there's an urgent need to spread awareness of the Pseudochristian-Dominionist agenda.

9. christian in name only..
bush is pro-life but its ok to kill Iraqis ..arabs..

bush wants an ownership society that is owned by his croonies

.'.man who gains the world to lose his soul.'

more tax cuts for rich = less benefits for the rest

more secrutity=less freedoms for the rest

fake christians who go to church and think JC wants to kill Arabs

BTW bush dont go to church..well known in DC..rather he speaks directly to his god...problem is the god of bush is the punishing god who rewards privlege by abusing/neglecting the rest...

bush executed Karl Tucker , a born again Christian ,and mocked her plea for life..NOW I call that satanic!

bush is an elitist and satanist.

"self-proclaimed (and self-important) christians" ... still subtler than "so-called christians," which might work too, depending on the mood :)
