At what point should I go back to being an Independent?
The Republicans are death-cult fascists and most of the prominent Democrats are invertebrates who simply refuse to stand in their way.

I changed my party affiliation last year so I could vote for Howard Dean in the primaries, but beyond Dean and Conyers and a few others I'm finding very little reason to stick around.

Here's a little news flash to Senator Durbin: Camp X-Ray at Guantanamo IS reminiscent of a Soviet Gulag or Nazi concentration camp. We don't know who is there, we don't know why they are there, none of them have had charges brought against them and we don't know what the military is doing to extract information from them.

Stand your damn ground, asshole. Every time a Democrat apologizes, a Republican gets a free "I told you so." Why in the hell aren't our alleged "leaders" unified on anything?

1. Your party affiliation matters for very little
except for the primary you can vote in. Change it whenever you like, nobody "official" is paying attention.

2. Seems fishy
What are they afraid of? Is Howard Dean the only person who can say shut the f up scum bags? You can't give up until the fat lady sings. I think I hear her warming up.

3. Here's a little newsflash to you: Durbin gave them an excuse
to change the subject from Guantanamo to Durbin. Unintentionally gave them the excuse. What he said is not exactly the truth, insofar as Guantanamo is its own kind of horror. Time to get back to getting Guantanamo closed and DSM exposed.

4. Once more, HE did NOT appologize for the remark, he only
expressed regret if anyone other than the neocon facist pigs took offense...

It takes a certain amount of class to do such, something that this adminstration surely lacks...

5. But the point is, people SHOULD take offense.
He made a strong statement and one that holds a lot of merit.

7. What's worse, Guantanamo, Durbin's comparison, or Durbin's apology?
I vote Guantanamo.

6. The Day After Bush Is Out
I have always considered third parties to be the Loyal Opposition, and sometime not even really opposition. More often than not I do not settle out of party simply because only the major parties hold a wide enough view to support.

However today I think a united front has to be built to push the consummate evil of the radical right out of Government and into prison. The day to step out of the fight is the day the fight is won and over.

10. Good point...why isn't BBV a top priority?
Nothing else matters if our election results can't be verified.
