5. you know, for the first year or so after the invasion...

...I was consistently denounced on DU for not "supporting the troops" and for "taking Saddam's side" and the like. Not by everyone of course, but by many. I remember one night in particular when three individuals overwhelmed every one of my posts with patriotic vitriol-- this was during the air assault on Faluja. Those folks seem mostly to have left, or they've been tombstoned, or they've simply stopped defending U.S. war crimes and war criminals. Some of them are now reqular posters at that other forum (not the one that begins with "f").

Anyway, I'm glad they took their "my country right or wrong" bullsh*t somewhere else.

on edit: a very well known and respected DUer once denounced me vehemently because I argued that Saddam Hussein had told the truth, had complied with U.N. demands, and so on-- all of which turned out to be true. He's never retracted, but he no longer suggests that the WMDs will eventually be found out in the desert, either.

No, I didn't know it was based on lies, but I had my concerns. I read the reports b4 the war that are now scrubbed off the MSM websites that reported complaints from CIA analysts about being pressured. I trusted Mr Powell to not lie to us.

Now I believe Sen. Kerry knew also. I am ashamed that I campaigned for him.
