Sheesh. I don't why it's so difficult for someone to simply explain who this person is and why she's so popular.

I'm always open to motivation to watch something new, although I do tend avoid corporate media like the plague. Since the name means nothing to me, I just haven't noticed it before on any threads. I hang out in the Science and Environment forums, and scan LBN, and this is the first time the name has registered.

Has been around for awhile. Currentlyn she is w/Air America and can be heard streaming if you use the link above the Forum Listings.

In any case, she is an interesting personality and a good Lib/Progressive; however, she can seem OTT if she gets into one of her frequent rants.

While I hold a favorable view of her, I have to admit she is a teriible interviewer and can take tangents to new heights/depths. She is a pundit, and journalistic integrity can be seriously lacking, but she not pretend she is something she is not. It is advisable to research what is heard if it sounds dubious, as with all pundits. I can't see where she actually topples truth, but she, like all the pundits, can certainly skirt it...:)

She is a bit of an attack dog, she sure makes her views known...;)

Once the repugs back off, he is all done. Bolton is the breaking point. If we succeed in telling him that he's a spoiled brat, that he can't possibly have everything he wants, he might as well go on vacation for the next few years. Iraq will explode in his face and I don't think there is a friendly country left that will offer him excile. Heck, he's even testing the waters of Vietnam. I can hear him now, "Uh, can I come live here? I wasn't even here during that nasty little peacekeeping thing in the 60's. Dad took care of that. So, yeah, can I stay?"

She spoke with Rep. Louise Slaughter today, and once again I found myself shrieking, "Will you please SHUT UP and let HER talk, Randi? That's what interviewees are FOR!"

She gets some great people but usually talks over them way much. But she did a good interview recently with Rep. Conyers. She gave him all the time he needed. Real restraint.

Randi's great strength is in her research and the clarity with which she teaches us what she knows. I've learned so much from her. I've concluded that when she has a guest, she gets nervous and talks too much.

But he's has a different goal: he actually told a guest that he was trying to "guide" him "to the right answer." That's why asks three questions simultaneously, answers them, goes off on a tanget, works in a talking point, pretend his opinion as fact, and expects you to agree. First runner up is that guy on CNN's Reliable Sources--what's his name, Kurtz? (Gets off shiftless lazy ass and does her own research) Yes, Howard Kurtz.

Of course we could toss O'Reilly into the fray as well...but in essence, all of them really stink to high heaven...biggest problem I have with them, they all toss softballs and expect solid answers.

These are not Journalists, they are pundits, and they are a true horror, as they pose as people who have some semblance of dignity.
