1. People always want "miracles" and when something good happens |
|
they cannot accept that sometimes good things happen, and sometimes bad things happen..
Humans always try to read more into things than there really is.. Life is random, and that's hard for some to accept.

It is not an easy question, but sometimes because of the fallen nature of humanity bad things happen to Good people through no fault of God's.
The entire message of scripture is about the rescuing of humanity from their spiritual destruction. We are definitely not promised, perfect, easy, or fair lives on earth.
You ask a good question though.

Personally, I think it comforts those not in control to place a responsibility of that magnitude in anothers hands. I tend to think that if there is a god, and it has a plan, that plan is most likely beyond the comprehension of simple humans, and we ought to simply allow nature to take its course. I dont go out of my way to assess blame, likewise, I dont go out of my way to determine who I ought to be thanking for everything.
If faith helps others, I am happy for them. It does little for me, but I tend to think a little differently than most. At least thats what I've been told.

I don't know if in each particuliar instance, the good thing was part of God's plan or if God took a particuliar interest in my situation. If there is an individual who helped me or made the good thing possible, I, of course, thank the person or people. Sometimes, there aren't other people involved, but I still am greatful. Either way, I thank God whether or not God had anything to do with it or not. Unexpected happy things in my life, especially when things seemed so bad, do seem like incredible events. How can I be anything but greatful?

5. It seems obvious that the idea that catastrophic and joyful |
|
events in our life are largely random is too much for most people to deal with. Belief that God "rewards" us now and then with miracles encourages us to hope when life appears hopeless. And it could be argued that the fact that one person lives in a circumstance where ten die is indeed a miracle if you admit that the miraculous event is usually just a highly unlikely one. I find that all so-called "true" miracles are anecdotal and usually took place so long ago that they can't be verified.

6. All of God's overwhelming miracles since Jesus have been natural disasters |
|
Isn't that just amazing? Not one incredible positive event that affects thousands has occurred. OTOH, lots of floods, tornados, earthquakes, fires. Then factor in no interference from him regarding genocides and wars.
No new beautiful species of butterflies or birds or animals. No new magnificent bodies of water. What, did his imagination run out, or could it be that God has nothing to do with what's good or bad on Earth.
