GOP recalled a recessed Congress for Schaivo, costing taxpayers MILLIONS
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 05:49 PM by blm
of dollars for NO REAL REASON other than to pander to their base and slander an innocent citizen. Bush spent millions more returning to DC during this recess period.

Political campaigning for their base, paid for by ALL OF US TAXPAYERS.

Will the GOP apologize for the time and money wasted? Will they REPAY the approx. 20 MILLION DOLLARS of our taxpayer money for their dog and pony show?

400 billion stolen (and counting) for this criminal enterprise.
Death, destruction, and profiteering -all immoral and running rampant.
All hail the corporations.

2. I agree with your sentiment
but can you tell me where you got the $20 million dollar figure? Not doubting it, just wonder how it was tabulated.

8. I was approximating the costs of returning congressman and staff, the
re-opening of offices and security and all those workers who were already on vacation.

The airline fares, the double overtime. Bush's every trip is a huge expense.

I think 20 million is the right ballpark.

5. Money Well Spent. And I am NOT kidding. Really, I'm not kidding.
This was one of the best things the Republicans, specially * could do with our tax money. This whole Schiavo case came around and BIT THEM ON THE ASS. Since the Terri Schiavo case, the rePIGS have not been able to do anything right. And, perhaps, this may have helped bring some journalists around to at least covering the DSM. If the "war prezNits" poll numbers weren't as low as they got (with the big kick in the seat of the pants given by Terri Schiavo) the MSM may not have wanted to listen to anything derogatory at all about bushit.

So I say, we should all curse the rePIGS publicly for wasting our tax dollars...but, privately, we should give them a great big "THANX"!!!!

:toast: :applause:

7. The President was not notified when the WH, Supreme Court
and Legislature were evacuated, but he flew back from Texas to sign the Schiavo bandwagon bill.

Show me one Fucking Republican with ethics or TRUE compassion and I'll vote for the fucker if he/she is in my state.
P.S. dickhead Doc Hastings is my congressman. (fat chance you'll win)

9. The thing I hated most about "Terri's fight"
The thing that I hated the most about that whole Schiavo thing was that it got in the way of the sports report.
