I have always told my girlfriend
that if she ever has a pharmacist who refuses to fill her perscription, then we can just go elsewhere.

I told her that if she wants, she can call me and I can come by and explain to the pharmacist and the manager there exactly why we will never be doing business with them again.

I don't care if they say they will find someone there who will fill the perscription.

Its disgusting, and I don't want to cater to a business that doesn't hire competent people who are willing to do the work.

And I don't need her being demonized without cause.

There is absolutely no reason for it.

9. You are such a
good boyfriend. I don't think that there is a pharmacy in Topeka that requires that they fill the perscription but I have not heard of anyone being turned down. We are behind the times a little, I am certain that it will happen.

5. To deny customers the right to purchase certain products is
flagrant discrimination. It's the same as denying blacks access to restaurants and hotels as it was in the South prior to the civil rights reforms. I think a good 20 million dollar court award would slow that down if the courts would be fair about it.

11. Absolute Insanity
Refusing to sell the 'morning after' pill? Why? It's primary use is to prevent pregnancy in cases of rape or incest.

Are they they pro-rapist-pregnancies?

And as for the "morality" issues, doesn't Viagra encourage sex too?

And what about Testosterone patches for women?

13. I think
They should be required to post on there door that they do not sell the Morning after Pill.
This way, the public can be warned and we can be sure not to give them our business

15. asshats, I'm a cashier and if you dumbass pharmacists try to
buy cigarettes I will refuse to ring them up. Cigarettes are disgusting, a waste of money, bad for your health, and I quit smoking them so you shouldn't smoke them either. Find another cashier to ring up your immoral purchase.

Also, I am a waitress and a vegan. If you order a meal that has meat, cheese, eggs or other dairy products in it I won't bring it to your table. I don't approve of eating meat and refuse to handle dead animals. You will have to find another waitress who won't mind doing my job.

Also, working for 8 hours a day is against my religion. So try to get me to do ANYthing and I will sue you for discrimination.

16. Bush is ANTI BIRTH CONTROL PERIOD
The Pill, Morning After, IUD, Condoms, Sterilization. Can you say the BIBLE? Read between the lines of his Abstinence ONLY until MARRIAGE. The Pill, Morning After are ABORTION. Condoms, diaphragms, etc., don't work and are "spilling of the seed". It isn't just for teenagers. If you are an ADULT, no sex or birth control for your either. The purpose of sex is to make babies IN MARRIAGE.

Now even putting that ABSURD logic aside, what if you ARE married? The abstinence education says "be faithfull in marriage." DUH????? What the HELL does that mean? If you have sex with your spouse, you DON'T NEED BIRTH CONTROL? Yes, that is what they are saying. According to their education, sex in marriage equals babies; as many as GOD DECIDES YOU SHOULD HAVE. If you want to SPACE your babies in marriage, then you use NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING, but NOT to prevent them (which won't work anyway). Sterlilization according to "God's Law" is self mutiliation. Remember, Bush put a CATHOLIC Health Plan in place for government employees in Illionis. That says it all.

I spent hours online searching all this until my head was spinning. If you want sites, I will send them to you. Welcome to the Theocracy.

17. How 'bout a Christian Scientist pharmacist who doesn't believe in any meds
Would he/she have the right to refuse dispensation of ALL medications?

Why would a Christian Scientist who doesnt believe in medication get a job at a pharmacy anyways?

21. My comparison shows the absurdity . If the court rules for one pharmacist
to withhold medication then it has to rule for the religious rights of other pharmacists, even those who are Christian Scientists.

19. I completely agree
I had a recent experience with condom breakage and found it necessary to find a pharmacy that dispensed the morning after pill. It was hard as hell to find one! and this is in (supposedly liberal) California. I'm sure that there would be many who would have just given up.

24. I disagree. Birth control pills have been used safely for decades
...if access wasn't an issue, I might be more inclined to worry about medical issues and risks. But as it is, between the fact that most insurance companies- if they cover it at all- will only pay for one month of pills at a time, (and people travel, people forget to refill prescriptions until 9:30 pm on a Sunday night, etc.) and many places where there is only one pharmacy with lousy hours are also the places where women are as likely to get a sermon as they are a set of pills... All that adds up to even the most conscientious people being at risk for an unwanted pregnancy-- (logically, if "pro-lifers" were really serious about wanting to cut down on abortions, as opposed to just wanting to control people, they would be in favor of selling oral contraceptives from vending machines)

No, make them OTC. There are all kinds of medications available OTC that can screw you up if you use them incorrectly- the reasons for the pill not being OTC have nothing to do with its medical safety and everything to do with the societal concerns of our country's control freaks.

What we need to do -across the board, as far as I'm concerned- is allow that ADULTS can make decisions about their own bodies, put the information out there, and let the chips fall where they may.

23. I wish somebody would ask
these morons what about women who take the pill to help with medical conditions such as endometriosis?

These women often WANT to have children and are hoping that calming down their endometriosis for awhile will actually help them to conceive later!

I'd also like to know if these assholes refuse to dispense viagra as well. After all, if God wanted the guy to be hard, he would be wouldn't he?
