Anyone watch PBS "Frontline" Tonight?"Private Contractors/Iraq + Walmart!
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 10:16 PM by KoKo01
Wow...it was incredible. The over 125,000 Private Contractors (Blackwater, Brit Company and Kellog, Brown & Root (Halliburton Subsidiary). Unbelievable report about "Green Zone" the Baghdad Hiway of Death and the problems between the Private Contractors and our Military in what rules and codes they need to follow.

Also that the Soldiers in Green Zone live a "high life" with sculptured watermelon's and gourmet meals, Video Game Rooms, plus "Fast Food Courts with the Franchised food of your choice. Kellog, Brown and Root washes their clothes and cleans their latrines. (Not your Vietnam/Korea/WWII type of Soldier duty where you had the KP Duty peeling the potato's and "Latrine Duty" was a kind of punishment. :eyes:

Followed by: Walmart and China and our Import and Export Trade Imbalance with Hedrick Smith (who used to be a PBS Regular). Incredible how Walmart has put companies out of business with their "low price point."

My feeling about watching the Walmart segment was: Rather than totally blame Walmart for being a great Capitalist Company...why don't we blame our Legislators who saw all this going on and refused to do anything about it. Once we opened the floodgates of US demand for low cost and China obliged how can we blame either China or Walmart for what our own policies were going down the road to hell here with loss of manufacturing base?

It was interesting...Did anyone see both Frontline Back-to-Back Features? Probably this is too long for anyone to read this late..but I hope some of you saw it or Tivo'd or taped it. It's worth a watch, depressing as it is.
