Independent contractors? Who are they? Who pays them?

Below are some news reports concerning the alleged abuses of independent contractor interrogators, plus some info on the company which seems to be the source of employment. There's also indications of who is paying this company. DOD

Heard a lot of talking about "civilian contractors" in Iraq. Thought I'd look it up. Just a few sites of info in case anybody is interested in who's taking the hits and who's making the bucks. Too bad we can't seem to find the funds to pay our troops a little better, or get the VA a little more funding.

But the DOD somehow finds the money to pay these "middle men," and damned good money it is. Wonder if this is how Rumsfeld "supports" the troops.

1. Bush has been outsourcing both interrogators

and countries of interrogation. We are paying the tab, of course. They are not tied down in their methods of "interrogation" that our military are.
