11. How do you know it's Firefox, |
|
and not your ISP, internet traffic congestion or the website(s) you are visiting? I never have problems with Firefox.

7. Have you done a power reset? Can you open your browser? |
|
Up at the top it will say "Help"... go down to where it says "About Mozilla..." it should show which version you're watching.
It sounds like a connection issue though... have you done a power reset? If not turn off the computer, turn off the power to your modem, wait 30 sec and then power the whole thing back up.

thank you for letting me know and for the welcome. :)
I sure understand about wanting a new computer. We finally just got new ones when DHs WC settlement went through and it's nice to have things running faster (although I must admit my very techie DH kept his and my old one running very well with a bunch of freeware programs). B-)

my DH is a techie and retired engineer who's into finding and trying out free programs (freeware) that work well and enhance the way folks computers run or make them more secure. What's wild is some of the free programs are as good if not rated better then the ones we pay big bucks for.
For instance... one of the best Antiviral programs is Avast. It's a freeware program... Free programs (for Individual non business use) to clean out spyware are SpyBot and Ad-Aware,. to protect against it is Spyware blaster. Two firewalls that work well are ZoneAlarm and Sygate. These are just off the top of my head... I know there are more and he's always testing more before recommending them to folks. The ones I mentioned here are probably the most important types to have to help protect your computer and your privacy.
There are also pop-up blockers, a browser called Slim Browser that runs the way Explorer does which is handy since not all websites like Mozilla based browsers. There are a few programs I like as well like one that takes off those annoying AIM ads called AIM Ad Hack, idiary, AM-Notebook (it has a nice alarm reminder feature), amongst others.
If you'd like the links let me know and I'll either have DH send them to me or I'll track them down. I haven't convinced him to sign up here yet. ;)
